A must have for those who like to tinker and come up with their own solutions
These make for a fantastic addition to your collection of adapters. Especially if you like to come up with your own tricks to solving problems. Have an external drive dock that gets a little hot during a clone? Slap a random fan next to it and use one of these to power it up. We do it all the time for this since most docks don't have built-in fans to help compensate for such heat.We just reviewed an external fan for an Xbox that is pretty great, but you could also throw a normal (internal) PC fan on top of the console and use one of these to power it up with. As long as you choose a fan that is whisper-quiet, you'll forget that it is even on.There are so many uses for these, and a lot of them involve random projects that could benefit from a little air. Or, you can simply sit a fan on your desk, point it at your face, and plug it in for some instant cooling during the summer. Let your mind have fun.**If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so we know. This helps us to provide quality feedback in the future.

Thought it had more than 2 pins
Works good but I though it would have 3 or 4 pins rather than 2

Fifty percent of the provided adapters worked
Fortunately I only needed 1 of this 2 pack - one worked fine, the other did not. I could wiggle the USB a little bit and my fan might start and then it might stop again. Thus far, the one that works seems fine.

Home theater receiver cooling
I have this connect to the front panel USB port on my denon receiver to power a computer fan to help exhaust hot air.So far it works great, can feel the fan spinning fast enough to pull out the hot air to exchange cooler air.So far it’s been a few months and the wires have not failed.

Doesn't provide full voltage but works
Self explanatory, if you're using servers fans or static pressure fans for water cooling you won't get full performance out of them with these adapters. If you're just cooling a media center cabinet or something similar, this will probably work fine for you.
