Not a Sequel - A Great Supplement to the Original
I paid for Telling Ain't Training for each of my eight direct reports. It's clearly the best of its kind. Now, I am using the Fieldbook as a guide to conduct a series of workshops based on the TAT book. There are exercises, quizes, and activities that help me facilitate a train the trainer course using Telling Ain't Training as the text. It's perfect.Bear in mind that the Fieldbook needs to be used IN ADDITION to the original. It does not replace the original, nor is it a sequel. It allows the user to "operationalize" the TAT book for training, and yes it IS based on the original.

not far beyond telling ain't training
I bought both Telling Ain't Training and Beyond..looking for an aid to improve my project management classes. All in all Telling... delivers what it promisses. However, I was very dissapointed to see that 95% (if not more) of Beyond... is merely a repetion of the first book. Even the practical examples are exactly the same!!I expected to find more practical aids, but the only content added is some guidance to apply the principles at organizational level. Even if I missunderstood the objective of Beyond... still I don't see enough new content to justify a whole new book.To make things worst, it comes with a CD, so you would expect to find some value added there! Again, it is not the case: the documents, which are just copies of figures and templates mostly allready found in Telling... are in PDF format, so what's the help ?! If you want to use them, you have to re make them by yourself, exactly as if you were copying from the (first) book!(sorry for spelling mistakes, english is my second language).
