The Army PainterSoft Tone Ink - Quickshade Wash - Non-Toxic Lightly Pigmented Water Based Wash Paint for Tabletop Roleplaying, Boardgames, and Wargames Miniature Model Painting

It's quite a heavy ink, especially if you're experience is mostly with GW inks. I use this for terrain to give depth to the brown mud effect that I am going for. It's also great to use in crevices of models to get that dark tone, when black won't cut it.

Plenty of reviews out there already at the minis-painting site of your choice.I use it best to highlight fair skin tones on minis. That's about the only thing it is good for in my use. I have a some skeletons to do this winter though so it might be good for them too.

I used this for a softer weathering effect for some Star Wars Armada ships to show they had been in planetary operations. The larger ships have had it applied as well as a rusting effect, the flotilla squadron in the attached pic has not.

This is a great way to achieve greater contrast on miniatures. I apply it in layers of glazes. It's easy to use, and yields good results.

Good product. Overpriced. Look elsewhere

Although I use a mix of both Army Painter and Vallejo paints on my figures, I had some real problems in the past with Vallejo inks/washes. Some had a regular habit of frosting - even with the most careful of applications. So I tired Army Painter Washes and (to date) I've never had the same problem. While Vallejo may have changed their mix since, I've felt no reason to go back. AP Washes work well, mix together well, and are a recommended addition to any model-painters set.
