Great brushes
Can’t talk about durability too much because I don’t use them very often but from the last 5-10x that I have used them, they’re pretty durable. They create a great sound. If you want more volume out of your cajon than you would get from playing it with your hands, these are for you. Create a very consistent sound. Have adjustable rings to hold the bristles together creating more volume and giving you a more tight sound. Or you can push them all the way down and create a brushier sound on your cajon which is much quieter. Super versatile. Great buy.

Nice Brush with slight internal rattle, like most brushes.
Loved them at first, then one became a bit loose internally and rattles. Wanted to update this review because I switched to a pull rod style which also has an internal rattle from a different manufacturer. I guess you can’t make brushes without the internal mechanism rattling a little whenever you swing the stick.

Malfunction
Wires started falling out sparcely at first then altogether in less than one minute while on a gig. Had to finish the time with one hand. Luckily I had a spare in the car trunk to finish the gig. Only lasted two months.

Great Feel, Versatile and Durable
When I bought these Monster Brushes three and a half years ago, I was looking for an alternative to rods for lower volume with tonal range beyond jazz brushes. And I absolutely love these Monster Brushes. I use them for practically every gig. Over time, I've expanded the range of uses for them as well. Playing cajon with them in both low-volume and plugged-in contexts is transformative. And they're equally applicable for playing my stand-up, quasi-rockabilly cocktail kit. There are now four necessary tools in my stick bag: Vater 7A Stretch sticks, jazz/wire brushes, mallets and these Monster Brushes. Again, to be absolutely honest, I play the Monster Brushes at every gig.

Solid product
These are great. I use them on a kit, usually at about quarter brush. If you play light they sound light, but you can also get power and crack if you lay into the drum/cymbal because of the width.I use them for band practice and they are great for getting the tone of the kit which is lost having to use practice pads. Besides replacing the pads for these brushes, they make for good ambiance for softer tunes, being that they amplify your attack equivalently to the force you use.Only downside being (obviously because they are brushes) rebound is lost when playing. But the trade off I'm comparing it to is using practice pads (which absorbs rebound anyway).Solid product.NailedDownBand.com to hear some tunes.

Decent Brushes
These brushes sound good, though they leave a lot of marks on your drum heads if you aren't careful. The black rubber leaves marks. Don't leave them out in the sun either - i had an old pair that I left in my car in the sun and the rubber melted and ruined the brushes. Otherwise, these are the best budget brushes you can get for this price.

Sound Great
I purchased these for use with a Cajon sit-on-top box/drum. Cajons can be played with your palms/hands etc., but these brushes add a whole new dimension and sound to the Cajon. You can roll the "rubber bands" up and down to change the sound of the brush, and they'll produce a wide variety of percussion sounds. Highly recommend.

LOVE
I play in a contemporary worship band setting. These brushes are a nice addition. I play them on the kit for a lighter touch - more of a lighter groove. Yet, they still have a beefy sound on toms. I also play them on cajon when we do more acoustic set.Of course, one cannot do the fancy stuff/fills with them, but that is not what they are for.All in all, a very nice addition!!

Cajon Ticklers!
Love the feel of these brushes and the extra versatility they can bring to cajon playing. Each brush has a pair of rubber o-rings that can be independently adjusted along the length of the bristles to change the brush response from very taught to quite slack. This provides a wide range of sound and feel possibilities - particularly altering the attack when you strike the cajon. The 'bristles' are actually fairly thick strands of curly nylon, densely packed together. When I first held these brushes, I was left unconvinced they would sound good and was unsure about the blue colouring of the bristles - but thankfully, I needn't have been concerned as these brushes are great fun to play and expand the impressive versatility of the cajon still further.

ULTIMATE CAJON BRUSH! - MUST BUY!
These are absolutely incredible! SOOOO Versatile! roll the rubber rings down and you can use them as a beater to get a good solid bass thud out of the cajon, and a nice slap in the top corners. Roll them up and you have an amazing brush that sounds brilliant and considerably louder than its metal counterparts! The reason I got these was because I wanted to protect my cajon from the scratches that come with using the standard retractable metal brushes. These things really deliver and there are no scratches or marks whatsoever on my shiny new cajon. If you are in any doubt, just buy these, you won't be disappointed! AMAZING!

Sounds great on cajon...
These didn't make a great sound spanking my girl friends pert buttocks. Sounds good on a cajon though. Definitely better suited to the second cause ... but you never know until you try.

Excellent purchase at such a reasonable price.
Nothing to dislike about these brushes which I use on my Cajon. The movable bands on each are very effective.

Perfect for cajon
I use these to play my cajon thereby needing to bend forward less. For that - this are perfect. I have had them about two years and take a regular beating but I reckon they will last another year at least.
