Turboscoops TV Sound Enhancers - Update
The Turboscoops perform as advertised. I tried inexpensive tv soundbars, computer soundbars, etc. without much success. With Turboscoops, the tv's down firing speakers sound is redirected out toward the audience adding a bit more clarity to voices. In my opinion they would look nicer without the plastic tabs on the bottom with the Turboscoops logo, but overall good job Turboscoops.Update 1/21/2019I used my bench grinder to eliminate the tabs with the Turboscoops logo and think they look better now under my TV. See attached picture. The Turboscoops continue to add a welcome better "presence" to my TV's sound.

I really wanted to hate these... 😑
I thought it was brazen of them to sell pieces of plastic for $20 but they have honestly saved me hundreds of dollars. When I bought my my new 4K TV one of the most frequent recommendations was to get a soundbar because everyone "knows" that the built-in TV speakers suck. To get a good quality sound bar would cost me over $200. But since my wallet was already stretched, I need a low-cost solution. After some more research I found out that one of the biggest issues with TV speakers these days that they don't direct the sound at you.The reason why these work so well is that it simply directs most of the sound toward you. The difference that these two pieces of plastic made was dumbfounding. I no longer had problems understanding speech or music. They can't replace a good quality TV bar but these will absolutely bring out the most of your TV speakers.*I did cut the logos from them because they were obnoxious...

It works!
As an engineer, I'd been concerned how my wife and I were having trouble hearing talking dialogue. I tried adjusting all the audio settings and nothing worked. When I saw this on Amazon, I thought for $20 why not?Well I put it on a Samsung 49 inch flat screen tv with scotch tape as the instruction recommended for starting and there was a noticeable improvement. I used the double sticky tape that came with it, and it now fits better and the sound is even better.I was considering a sound bar, but I like this better! I had a sound bar a while ago, and it didn't improve the sound nearly as much as this. It really directs the sound out the front and more importantly, the entire frequency spectrum of sound all stays in phase, so suddenly the built in speakers now sound acceptable.I will order another one for a 2nd Samsung TV.I am not sure what some of the criticisms were but I had no trouble installing it with the sticky back tape, and it now fits snug to the bottom of the TV. I'm surprised TV manufacturers don't add this to their TV's?Make sure the device fits snugly to the TV, with no gaps or spaces.

Does Improve Sound
Soundverters mounted over speakers under TV easily, and they genuinely seem to deflect the sound and project it forward. It’s not the same as having a forward mounted speakers, but they do increase the amount of sound heard. On a scale of one to ten, ten being best, I would rate them an 8.

Low-Tech Cost-Effective SoundBar Alternative
These were purchased for a very specific application, and they did the trick. The speakers in our ceiling-mounted drop-down TV mount were firing directly into the lower support bar of the TV lift, and the sound volume and clarity were less than ideal. We raised the TV in the mount in hopes of gaining enough room for a powered sound bar, but there was not enough room for one. There was just enough room for these "sound scoops", and though I was kind of skeptical, I installed them. Installation was very easy, but I did have to cut off the little tabs at the bottom, as mentioned in another review. They did improve the volume and the clarity of the dialogue quite a bit, and the sound is no longer muffled. Obviously, not as good as a full-fledged sound bar, but then again it's one tenth of the cost. Bottom line - if you have realistic expectations, this is a great solution for improving the sound of your TV at a reasonable cost!

For the price it does a good job
If your looking for huge improvements and much better sound quality you may want a sound bar. This is a passive speaker aid. I had almost an echo, like in a box, from the speakers that came in my TV. These eliminated that. It did make the sound a bit louder. It did exactly what I was hoping for. It does not aid in the quality of the sound or more base. Does a good job for the price.

Surprise! They work.
They actually work. I was doubtful about it. I had made cardboard deflectors just to see the difference and those kinda worked. My speakers point down and the sound seemed it was louder behind the TV than in front.I used my Apple Watch Noise app to see how well these worked. I set my TV sound at a comfortable 20 and from my chair without the deflectors and the watch showed 54 to 58db. I rewatched the same scene in the movie after installing the deflectors and the watch recorded 63 to 65db. I guess that’s as scientific as I can get with what I have here, rather than saying I guess they work.

WORTH IT!!!!!!!
Love it!!!!!!Amazing concept used at a fraction of the cost and am able to actually hear what the tv is saying. When tv is on a table without the scoops sound has no problem reflecting but when it's on the wall and no scoops, very difficult. That's why it's worth making the investment.
