Misleading sizing
I am 5"4" tall. Purchased a size 8 pant and they were 8 inches too long and too big in the waist. I have purchased hiking pants from REI that were size 8 and they fit well. I'm afraid to even try the smaller size because even if they fit in the waist, they would most likely still be far too long. The pants aren't listed as being "long" (as opposed to regular") but I have a feeling that they are longs and were dumped on Amazon and sold for a cheaper price than what you would find elsewhere.

Great lightweight "bug proof" pants
Read lots of reviews & decided to give these a try in spite of them being so varied. So it's a "hiking" or at the very least casual lightweight pants. Did I say lightweight?! That's one of the best features - They are SO lightweight - OK so they wrinkle on the seams a little (and yes these have been washed by themself as instructed in cold water & hung to dry, which they did in less than 2 hrs and I did use a cool iron -on silk setting - to lightly press them and yes they still look a bit wrinkled, but really, who cares? As for the fit - so many comments on them running large - I normally wear size 9/10, so I ordered the size 8. They are a perfect fit, waist, hips, buttocks - so sag, no bag. Yes, they are longer than most people will need - measured the inseam before washing: 33 inches and after air drying: still 33 inches. My preference is 30 inch, so I'll cut off 1 1/2 inches and after turning another 1 1/2 inches for the hem, walla I'll have 30" inseams. Anybody that can't hem a pair of pants, needs to learn. They have snaps on both sides of the leg of the pants a little below the knees, so that when you fold them up you can snap the fold into place to hold them. Probably not necessary, as the legs are slim and you'd have to be doing a lot of crazy jumping around to shake them down in my opinion. I checked out lightweight pants on Travel Smith and a couple other sites & they all ran at least $10.00 more and most were ankle pants and none had good reviews. With this Prime Try before you buy, what's there to loose! I'm a happy camper, literally!! And since I'm basically mosquito food, if I don't get any bites I may ONLY wear these pants outside! They would have got 5 stars if they didn't wrinkle, LOL!
