If these guys were rockers this is how they would sound.
Yep, no idea what that means. But BS are not really rockers in the traditional sense more like experimental noise. And I got to say this album is one of their finest simply for the melodies and the rocking songs. Yeah, it is definitely different to what they did before but there were obvious glimpses leading up to this. It's not Larry poppy and really a lot of solos, fuzz, and chugging intersperse the songs which are actually all quite decent to great. Some of them are a little on the cheesy side but it's all in good fun. I really like some of the guitar work on the album and you can tell they had been into these songs for a bit. This 1993 release doesn't sound at all bad either and has a high dynamic range and good bass. Some of my favorites are Tongue, Dog Inside Your Body, Edgar, The Wooden Song, Dancing Fool, and Dust Devil. Really quality stuff mixed around with generally good stuff. A most consistent and entertaining release from these guys.

A record that has been a long time coming.
This is one of the most far out albums ever made and is a mix of punk folk to funk rock and everything in between that is strange and wonderful with 17 tracks that can be played at parties with the exception of the last track that anyone with a gag reflex should avoid. You can look up the video for "Who was in my room last night" to get a good idea of just one track off of this record which makes me want to modify my car into a rocket and launch myself into outer space. This record has recently been released for the first time on vinyl and has been long overdue, i have played the cd version since it came out in the early nineties and it still sounds fresh, weird, and new even today.

Tour De force
This album takes all the butthole experiments and turns them into musical masterpieces that paint a picture with witty, insightful lyrics from beginning to end. Every song is infectious with incredible guitar sounds that form part of a musical collage that when added to the vocal melodies is stunning. This album has been a favorite out of my vast collection and a perfect example of how mainstream sterile institutions that polute this country, like Rolling Stone magazine, need to be ignored while true fans of brilliant art can relish in the Butthole soundscape of musical bliss.

This album is freakin nuts!
Incredible lead guitar playing and downright catchy song writing for the most part make this an absolute must purchase. But I will say that this album will not be for everyone as this album is freakin nuts! Hard to explain but you will understand after listening. The lead in this is just amazing, not 5 or 10 second solos but solos that require your listening they are so good that carry on throughout entire songs. Some songs are instant classics such as the I dont give a ---- song, Love It! . There is a lot of humour in this album. Close to classic material with some timeless songs and have to be heard lead playing make this highly recommended.

Great Release
Another great release from the surfers. This a great bridge between the rough sound of early albums from these guys and the better production found on later releases.
