Reliable Yarn.
Red Heart Super Saver in “Red Hearts” is one of those yarns that just gets the job done. The color is a strong, true red that stands out without looking cheap or overly shiny. It works well for both small projects and bigger pieces like throws or scarves. The texture isn’t super soft straight out of the skein, but it does soften up after washing. What you lose in softness, you gain in structure — it holds its shape nicely and doesn’t pill easily. That makes it especially good for things like home decor, accessories, or anything that needs to hold up over time. It’s not fancy or luxurious, but it’s dependable, affordable, and consistent. I always keep a skein or two on hand, and I’ve never had issues with knots or inconsistent thickness. For the price and quality, it’s hard to beat.

Great Quality Yarn for All My Crochet Projects!
The media could not be loaded. I absolutely love working with the Red Heart Super Saver Blue Yarn. The 3-pack is perfect for larger projects like blankets, sweaters, and cardigans. Each skein has a generous 364 yards, which goes a long way. The yarn is soft yet durable, and the medium (worsted) weight makes it super versatile for both knitting and crochet. The color is vibrant and consistent throughout all three skeins. It doesn’t split easily, which is great for beginners and experienced crafters alike. Also, because it’s 100% acrylic, it’s easy to wash and holds up well over time. This has become my go-to yarn for everything from granny squares to amigurumi. Highly recommend for anyone looking for affordable, high-quality yarn in a beautiful blue

Only use this if you want your finished projects to outlive you!
I didn't want to like this yarn. Like many yarn artists, I have, not-so-fond memories of learning to crochet with this scratchy synthetic fiber .... but also like many fiber enthusiasts, I appreciate enough positive things about this yarn it has become a staple in my yarn stash. The positives:So many beautiful colorsPriceDurability of steelEasy to work withEasy to find and color matchMachine washes and driesSoftens more with each washThe negatives:It's scratchy and some colorways are more scratchy than othersI did follow the advice of some red heart enthusiasts and use fabric softener (which i am generally not a fan of) to soften my projects during the blocking process. This works wonderfully! The yarn does soften. Like 10 times more than upon original use. I've even heard of yarn artists placing the skein in a knee high panty hose and rinsing some fabric softener through it prior to working with it. I haven't tried that myself and likely won't, but it's an interesting idea.I mean if I must work with synthetic fibers, the durability and easy care instructions are easily 2 of many selling points in this yarn. I now have many, many skeins just waiting to become... something.

Soft, Reliable, and Perfect for Every Project!
I got the Red Heart yarn pack in the aran shade, and it’s exactly what I needed! The yarn is soft, sturdy, and easy to work with—great for crocheting plushies, blankets, and detailing work. The color is clean and consistent throughout, and it holds up well without splitting or fraying. Whether I'm making something for myself or a KnitWits project, this yarn always delivers.

Amazing color
The color is amazing, but the yarn feels like rough wool against my skin. I found tips online for pre-washing full skeins prior to use because this seems to be common. I didn’t go to the trouble of pre-washing and drying, but I did try several methods for softening after I made sample squares. I can’t tolerate most laundry products, so my choices were limited. Soaking in a mild solution of water and liquid castile soap softened the sample better than laundering in a mesh laundry bag or soaking in a solution of borax and water. The borax method was second best, but you have to rinse it out really well. There was no color fading, but the samples washed in a mesh laundry bag in the washing machine got fuzzy and looked like they would pill easily. The sample soaked in the sink with the castile soap solution had no visible damage after washing. This yarn has a squeaky feel to it and it makes noise with the painted and plastic type crochet hooks. Stitches held their shape well and squares were thick and firm feeling, especially with certain stitches. Using a slightly larger hook than the recommended size helped. This is a great option for practicing new stitches because you can choose your favorite colors for a great price. It probably wouldn’t be comfortable for babies or children, and it would probably be better for items which won’t require laundering on a regular basis. Stitches with a slightly larger hook unravel better than stitches made with the recommended hook size. (For frogging) I’m really enjoying the pretty color while I play with it.
