LOVE this item! Wonderful!! :)
I bought this item after being frustrated for months with wet paws and tracking-and then HATING a similar item of another brand. The WizDog arrived today and already I can tell it's perfect. My 7 month old, 10 lb Morkie hopped right up on it, did his business, and walked away WITH DRY PAWS! No cajoling, convincing, or treats required, lol...The grate is recessed, so there's no spillover when Puppy lifts his leg to "aim". The grate is easily removable for a quick wipe down (I use Nature's Miracle or a spray mix of Vinegar and water). It's big enough for him but not so big that it takes up the whole hallway where it sits. Best of all, it's less expensive than the alternatives I've tried, AND the shipping was lightning fast! I ordered this on Monday or Tuesday, paid for standard shipping, and here it is on Thursday already. WOW!Don't waste your money on another potty system. The WizDog is the best-you'll love it!

Works for some dogs
We got 2 standard poodle pups in February. Trained both the same way to use this indoors. Our male dog....no problems. Within about 1-2 weeks was using it faithfully. The female, however, never took to it. Eventually, they both got potty trained and go outside now. I think success depends upon training and the dog itself. The product itself held up well and was easy to clean, provided you have a large enough sink.

Wiz Wiz Wizzzzz
I have a two year old, ten pound shih tzu mixed dog. She loves her WizDog, as do I. It was easy for her to get used to it. I placed it in the same location where she normally goes on her puppy pads...I allowed her to get familiar with the product...it took her about two to three days to understand that the WizDog was her new bathroom. The clean up is easy. Because it is made of plastic, it requires a weekly/bi-weekly disinfecting/sanitation. I chose to eleviate the stress of buying pads, and I use newspaper to line the bottom of the potty...Buyers beware: customers need to consider all aspects of their pet prior to purchasing this or any product like it. Some pets may not like the slight elevation of the WizDog (from floor to potty), other pets' paws my be small enough to get stuck in the grate...also, for cleaning, have an old toothbrush handy for the grate...you will need it. Urine and number two stains will not come off with a simple soak and wipe...

DO NOT BUY THIS!
Will your dog use this? Maybe. Our 9 week old puppy did both pee and poop on this after pawing at the cheap plastic grid and trying to pull it out. If the poop isn't solid, the grid is a mess to clean. Our puppy was actually burrowing his nose in it - totally disgusting. Sure, you can rinse it off in your shower as one reviewer said, but then you have to clean your shower! (Not to mention your puppy!) When I changed the pad in the Wiz Dog, I awoke to discover, yes, the puppy peed on it, but he pooped in the middle of the floor - not on the Wiz Dog. The bottom line: expensive, cheaply made, ineffective product even for the most vigilant pet owner. Stick to plain old wee-wee pads, which are less mess in the long run.

Sent it back....
Maybe I have no business reviewing this product, since I sent it back before using it.... but I felt others should know what I learned before they order it. The Indoor Dog Potty consists of a tray with a grid that loosely fits inside, under which you are supposed to place newspaper for puppy's potty. The tray is very flimsy plastic -- a little heavier than a plastic milk carton. The grid is the type you can buy at any hardware store -- they are grids for light fixtures that go into a suspended ceiling. The grid is sharp to the touch -- I felt it might be too uninviting for a puppy's soft foot pads, and that the puppy would be unlikely to want to walk on it. Also, the grid's squares are about 1/2 inch deep, and I felt it would be difficult to clean [...] from it. In my opinion, this item was way too expensive for what it was, and I sent it back without trying it. What I ended up doing, which worked pretty well, actually, is to buy some housetraining spray (and may I mention, one spritz is plenty) from the pet store and sprayed it on the floor of my walk-in shower. The [...] is easy to pick up with tissue and flush down the toilet, and I keep a broom-handled scrubbrush and disinfectant bathroom cleaner handy for scrubbing down the shower floor before use. I have a showerhead with a hose on it for easy rinsing. Puppies are nearly housetrained, now, but this method made it easy for the pups to take care of business if left alone for more than a couple hours. My last beloved pooch didn't like going outside in the rain, and I wish I had thought of this shower alternative for her. If rain proves to be a deterrent this time around, at least the pups have an alternative to going outside. By the way, I drape a bathrug over the top of the shower door opening to keep the glass door from closing all the way, in case the pups bump it. I'm not saying the Indoor Dog Potty doesn't work.... I'm just saying it is cheaply made, and that there may be a better, easier way to accomplish the same task.

not effective for my dog
My dog used this about 2 times and then decided that he liked the floor better. I pulled out some grass and put them under the grill, and the smell must have triggered his brain to use it again. But after a few times, I got tired of trying to fool him into thinking it was lawn. Maybe one of those scented sprays would have helped. Fortunately, my dog is older and no longer has a need for this.I like it that it's fairly easy to clean and the shape wasn't very conducive to my dog chewing it up.

1 year strong
It's been a little over a year, no complaints. The product is dead simple, plastic grate over plastic holder. We use newspaper to line ours, makes it so cheap. Our dog just walks right on and does his business. Easy clean up (wipe down with a cloth and some Dr. Bronners) and it's back in action. The raised lip means he doesn't miss that often (maybe once every week?), can't complain.

Perfect for my puppy
Every time I left my puppy alone, he would tear up his potty pad. So I needed this product to protect the pad and still allow him to potty. At first I wasn't sure if he would use it because of the texture of the grid that covers the pad, but he was fine with it. I highly recommended this product for anyone who has the same problem I had.
