Works like a refrigerator - No kidding
Mine worked like a refrigerator. Cans of Dr.Pepper got so cold, there were ice particles forming inside the cans up against the cooling element. I had some cans frozen to the bottom of the cooler where the condensation had become frozen. I had the unit plugged in my 18 wheeler and it ran 24/7 which is why I guess it was able to get so cold. It seemed to be nice and cold after about 8 hours from room temp. The smaller size is also easier for the unit to cool. Less space for it to have to try to keep cool. After unplugging, it kept the cans cool for about 3 hours with 70 degree weather. The unit was fairly quite. You could hear the fan running but it was gentle enough like that of a desk top computer fan.If you buy the 110v power adapter, it would work just as well if left plugged in long enough. You could plug it in over night the day before your trip and then use the 12v power the day of your trip to keep everything cold. Thermoelectric coolers require time to work.

How to replace 80mm fan on this cooler
I've used this for about a year or more in my semi-truck, it runs 12-16 hours a day 5-6 days a week. maybe other people got a defective one because mine keeps water bottles ice cold, ice litterally forms inside the water bottles. You must run your AC if it's warm outside, that's the only way to get chilled drinks. If you run this in a super hot car of course it won't seem like it's working. The fan started to make noises so I took off the housing and replaced it with a 120mm fan because it's all I had at home. The stock fan is Shenzhen 80mm SM8025SH 12v 0.25 A, that's extremely high amperage for a 80mm fan so I think it's a high output fan, I couldn't find the exact fan, but the 120mm fan I used should be about the same CFM cubic feet per meter air flow. since it's a bigger fan it will be quieter because it should spin slower, that's how it usually is. I'll post pictures of how to replace the fan when it fails. cut the 2 black and red wires from the old fan, cut it near the fan so you have longer wires, on the 120mm fan theres 3 wires, it has an extra yellow wire, probably to sense the rpm on the motherboard, just don't use it. connect the red to red wires and black to black, positive and negative respectively. I had to cut and ugly hole in the side to make the monster fan fit. I used a hand jig saw, you can use aviation snips or anything that can cut plastic. use caution. here are the pics:instructions theres 4 philips screws on the side housing, remove them, cut wires on old fan, use + and - on new fan and splice into wires into the cooler, red to red, black to black. put everything back.the old fan is mounted to the housing via 4 philips screws but its hard to get to, use a skinny philips screwdriver and use wire cutters/ lexan scicors, etc to cut off the 4 corners at the top of the old fan so your screwdriver and unscrew it at a more vertical angle

Im in the HVAC business. This things a life saver. Got it for my work van. After getting out of a hot freaking attic coming out to the truck and your water feels like you just got it from the cooler at the gas station is great. No more hot water no more melted ice no more having to keep stopping for cold water is great. Best 50 bucks spent. Fits 4 regular water bottles and 4 of my protein bars. That too. No more melted messy bars. Recommended. Unplug it when getting home plug it up when he adding out. Bought a 3 port plug with switches on it too all I need to do now is flip the switch when coming home and leaving in the morning.

Nice design but does not work well for "stop and go" driving pattern
I bought this as a present for my wife who is a hospice nurse on the evening shift. We thought it would be perfect to keep her dinner warm during our New England winters while she was doing her rounds visiting patients. The problem is that the Wagan does not heat food enough to keep it really hot given her driving pattern. We put the food in hot into the Wagan (so it shouldn't have to work too hard in the beginning). She typically drives a 1/2 hour, does a 1-2 hour visit and then repeats that pattern for her entire shift. Depending on where in the cycle she took out her dinner, it was somewhere between "warm enough" and "hardly warm". It was never "hot". That's problematic and perhaps a spoilage hazard. If you're buying this more for a long trip and then enjoying a warm meal, that might work fine. But for "stop and go" type driving, it wasn't acceptable for us, so we returned the unit.

Good investment
What I can say it is actually great fridge. I added 2 pre-chilled water bottle and after 30 mins drive. It kept the water bottles in a nice temperature. It's not super ice cold but a nice cool temperature that is satisfying to drink. The size is great, and with the added cup holders I like it. The only issue I have is where the fan is located and condenser ite located at the bottom which can cause blockage. If no one is paying attention it can over heat .However, as an over all product it's great for 2 people road trip.Update August 2017 through 2021 R.I.PAfter 4 years and dozens of trips this little fridge finally gave out :(. After a day trip off in late summer of 2021 the little fridge gave out. I'm pretty sure the heat of the sun and not being in a cool place did the trick. But over all for average road trips or long distance trips this fridge did the work. With proper maintenance and care it can last for a decent length of time. Over all. Worth the investment.

Don't buy these things!!
I had one of these in my workshed for a couple of years and finally decided to try it out. It didn't work, wouldn't get cold or warm. I figured it was just broken. Found one at a yard sale for $20 so I got it as I was making a trip and wanted something cold to drink. It didn't work either. Figured I got burnt for the 20. Found one on Amazon and decided to try it. I put ice cold soda in it from the fridge, put it in the car and started on a 300 mile trip. I made sure the unit was turned on and running. After about 150 miles, I decided I wanted to drink. Has anyone ever drank warm Mountain Dew?? The cans were cold when they went in but warm when I stopped to have one. Yes the unit was on the cold mode. Given a choice between buying a Yugo and one of these, I would go for the Yugo.

Great personal cooler
Exactly what we were looking for. Have not tried it is as warmer, but works great as a cooler in the summer. We have used it on numerous road trips, that it still look like brand-new.

Works well!
Bought for my parents when they travel by car and my Dad loves it. Fits well in the vehicle between the seats and does the job needed.

Exactly as shown! It was a little small for us - but that was my fault. Would be suitable for a lunch kit in my opinion. Handy little cooler for long trips though!
