COLLEGE STUDENTS save your money and download this book for free online!
I got this book for my circuits class. I'll be completely honest and say that I used the physical book 1 or 2 times. This 9th and 10th edition of this book can be found online for free. Full book! Also the solution manual to both books are on there as well.Pretty much everyone in my class had downloaded the digital version and used that, as it was much more convenient than needing to buy and carry the book around.I'm only posting this information because I know many students that struggle to pay for their classes/books and hopefully this helps save you some money!Goodluck!

Good subject coverage, but not a good introduction
I noticed when I read the other reviews that many bad reviews came from first-year circuits students, while the good reviews came from those who already had some circuits knowledge. The assessments from both were pretty accurate.Note: This is calculus-based circuit theory, basic calculus knowledge is assumed. The good: This book is one of the most comprehensive treatments of fundamental circuit analysis that I have seen. Most chapters are fairly well-written. It is an excellent resource as a reference or as a review, and it is a book you will go back to again and again as you proceed in your studies. If you learn everything in this book, you will have a very good foundation in circuit theory. The bad: In the first few chapters there are a few basics that are not well-covered or are out of order (knowledge is assumed of a subject introduced some pages later). If you are using this book for your first-ever exposure to circuit theory, you will benefit from reading a little basic circuit theory elsewhere before your class starts.

Worst value anywhere, do not buy if at all possible and tell your friends not to buy
Where can I begin about this book? I know, how about a waste of money; no, I think a waste of time; no better yet, this book is the problem with the education system if this is what is the standard or is what is accepted as normal!! HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!No explanations, no examples that relate to the homework problems and, no useful techniques or approaches to problem solving!!!This book is trying so hard to dazzle you with it's assumptions and leaps of mathematical prowess, you get lost in the BS!!! It condescends, frustrates, obfuscates, and downright insults you with the lack of direction, explanation or clarity, and misses the mark of teaching altogether!!!! You end up thinking you don't know material that you know that you already know!!The authors of this text must have been locked away in some research lab somewhere, bored to death and came up with a brilliant idea!! They must have made a bet with each other to see who could come up with a way to present material in a more indirect and unapproachable way. Well guys, news flash you BOTH WON!I can't say enough what a waste of time and energy this book has been for me. There are hours of my life I will never get back because of this book's deliberate effort to make it that way!!!Avoid this book at all costs!! Talk to your department head and your professors, and let them read some of the other reviews!!!

Get a different book!
I just finished a 1st semester circuits course using this textbook. The other reviews are spot on. In reading the reviews, I had a back up plan and purchased "Fundamentals of Electric Circuits" (FEC) as a backup textbook. Well, that book became my primary. You may not truly realize what this book (Nilsson) is missing until you read another textbook. I often felt like I was missing information to adequately comprehend a topic or to solve problems. Then I would read FEC and those missing pieces were filled in, with better circuit examples to learn from. As other reviewers mentioned, in Nilsson I often found myself reading ahead to get information to solve problems earlier in the book. In addition, there is a huge disconnect between the chapter examples and the homework problems. I understand homework problems should be challenging, require one to think out of the box, not just plug-and-chug, but this is a little too much in this book. In addition, not EVERY odd# problem has an answer (no even ones either). Therefore, I often found myself simulating circuits to get answers (not necessarily a bad thing). And I would not waste your money on the supplementary texts (Study guide, Multisim guide, etc). They are just about worthless. Conclusion: Use this book if you have to (i.e. you have to do the homework problems and turn them in), but if you have the means, get a second book to study from, do problems from. Then sell this book back when you are done with it and keep the other book.

Great Intro to Circuit Analysis
A great introduction to electric circuits. There are plenty of examples and many problem sets at the end of each chapter. Understanding it my take a few readings but that is true of any engineering concept. I would recommend to anyone interested in circuit analysis since it covers a board range of topics.

Fast! Great book, great condition, great price!
Fast! Great book, great condition, great price! Older editions are the best. It's where the professor pull their questions from a lot of the time too. Thanks so much!

Could be better.
Had to buy it for intro engineering circuits. Wasn't the best book to learn the subject since I ended up using the teachers notes to study instead of this book.
