Weeds don't stand a chance`
Very well designed with quality materials, arrived very sharp. This is great for precision weeding gardens and beds. Tool is great for getting rid of tree saplings growing in my beds. Also great for planting transplants. Handle ergonomics are great, would work well for someone with smaller hands. Your hand is also protected from sharp cutting edges by pommel. There is a upgrade version of this which uses 440 stainless steel available, but it is considerably more expensive. This one worked fine for my needs. Seems to hold an edge okay, even after digging in the dirt.

High Quality Knife / Comfortable Handle
I am using this as a garden knife. The blade is 1/8" thick (.12" or about 3mm) and 7.5" long. The edge is nicely ground and is very sharp. One side is serrated with 5.5 mm between points and about .6mm deep. Both edges are ground on one side to impressive sharpness. Checking with a magnet, the tang goes up to the hole in the handle - more than enough for my needs. The steel appears to be stainless. I will report on blade performance in future updates. The blade is marked 'made in Japan'. The handle is molded and is comfortable. There is a 50mm x 12mm slot in the handle which might be intended to be a light duty valve wrench. The sheath is molded rigid plastic. I can't torque it with two hands. There is a 3/8" hole where a raised dome of plastic on the handle fits as a detent to retain the knife. There is also a nylon strap with a snap. The sheath is attached to the closed 2.5" belt loop and by a screw and nut which serves as a swivel. There is a large drain hole in the bottom of the sheath 20mm x 3mm. There are molded in reinforcing vanes in the sheath where where the belt loop connects. Its overbuilt and frankly impressive.I will be using this to dig holes in turf and as a trowel. The soil here in Arizona is sandy and fairly hard. This isn't a use that I would normally subject a knife to.This is my first knife of this type, but I own many other blades. I was surprised at the high quality of this knife. For the price, I won't be afraid to use it as a tool without babying it. That said, my first impression was 'whoa - cool'.

Fantastic digging tool
I use this for metal detecting hobby. Fantastic digging tool. Sharp, strong, well made, and priced right. Cuts through ground with ease and feels great in hand. Ive used many others, and in my opinion, this one surpasses them all.

Awsome knife, trowel, multitool for the garden.
First impression: I bought this as a replacement for a similar tool that lasted about 2 years and just couldn't take the beating of farm use. This thing is a huge step up from other tools that have a wooden handle and It comes with a great sheath that the tool securely "clicks" into. Bottom line this is probably the best tool of its kind.

great knife
In the kitchen we use high quality Japanese knives and are very happy with their outstanding quality and finish. That is why we decided to order this knife. It has the same high quality manufacturing and finish as our Japanese kitchen knives. You could even say it is a piece of art. Highly recommend.

Not very heavy duty
This works fine for planting in tilled soil which is very loose, but anything that hasn't been worked up will bend the blade. I was hoping this was a bit more heavy duty, but its just kind of a light usage tool. The blade is sharp which is nice, but its a pretty limited use case for my needs.

Sturdy well made tool. I take it to every outdoor adventure.
Got the wooden handled version for my mom as a present and then I realized how awesome it was and bought myself one lol. I use it like mad in my garden and I always have it with me when I go on a hiking trip as well. It's sturdy and well made. The stainless steel is true stainless not some cheap s*** that rusts if you leave it outside. The one i got my mom had seen some s*** and with a quick wipedown is still as shiny and beautiful as the day I gave it to her.
