Question 1

I've got a 2cfm @ 90 psi porter cable compressor.  will that be sufficient to power this tool enough to loosen the fan clutch (3 seconds?)on my truck?

Yes it will. I have a porter cable 2.6cfm 6 gallon pancake compressor and it runs it full power. You get about 20 seconds before the compressor kicks on. The guy who said it won’t work, and it HAS to have 4cfm never actually tried it. You can’t run this thing all day off a smaller compresssor, but for light intermittent work it will work just fine.

How do I assemble it out of the box?  This is my first air hammer and it doesn't tell me anything in the printed materials.

The "tip" if you will is basically a quick (dis)connect attachment for the tips that came with it. Put that on and use the allen screws built into it to tighten it really good. Then you just grab it and slide it down towards the hammer itself, which allows you to insert the tips, then let go and they should be locked in. They won't be locked in tight, because otherwise the hammer isn't able to do it's job and move them, but you should be unable to pull them back out without sliding down the collar again.

do you know if they make an attachment for driving a 5/8 ground rod this ? is about the air impact driver

You could Go this Route: This tool here (Mayhew Tools 37316HT Pneumatic Bolt Breaker, 1/2-Inch, Hang Tagged ) would allow you to put a Socket on the end of it that would Fit your 5/8 Ground or other items you may need to drive , this would allow the Socket to Cup/Stay On the end on the Ground Rod While not worrying about slipping off the Ground Rod while using the Air Hammer to drive it into the Ground.
