Winner! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good but not enough detail *by S***E on 21 January 2025* This is a good book that covers all the basics of puppy / dog training however my only issue is that the author does not go into enough detail regarding why things are done the way they are. For example, he teaches the sit command and how to progress it but mentions nothing about the "stay" command - Further reading has informed me that whether or not a stay command should be taught is debated and many say the sit command has an implied stay - That is the dog should know not to move until the sit is over. I don't know why he doesn't go into more detail (nothing mentioned about "release" commands either for example), as far as i can tell he is a very competent trainer and knows his stuff, just doesn't seem to explain it all for some reason.
