WizcomInfoscan 3 Lite

I was a bit skeptical buying this device at first because the reviews of similar models were not too complementary. I found that this pen scanner is VERY accurate. I use it to copy lines from photocopies and even books. You don't even have to put the book on a table as long as you scan in a relatively straight line. There is even a plastic guide to put on the tip of the pen to help beginners. It is very fast at processing each line and you get an immediate preview of what you just scanned. It is much smaller than you might think and is relatively light. It is like using an electronic highlighter. There are no wires to get in the way and it automatically shuts off. It is easy to transfer the data to your PC via the USB cable or to your PDA via the infrared. I am very satisfied with its performance and the price.

I recently purchased the Wizcom Infoscan3 Lite pen scanner. Wonderful device to use. It keeps me from having to utilize place holders and Post It flags which adds to the clutter of my home. With that said, the product works well in an upright position. I have no problems scanning using public transportation or uneven surfaces.After a month, I lost the lower portion of the display screen and am returning the device for a refund. A refund because I was so satisfied that I am upgrading the the Wizcom SuperPen Professional to alleviate the only scanning issue I had. As a web designer, I would like to scan code with special characters and the Infoscan3 forced me to edit... not too accurate.I believe you can't ask for better technology without investing in a good product that gets better. Infoscan3 is a great choice.

I bought one of these for use in my classes, my thinking that this would be a handy tool. Well it would be if worked. not to say that the scanner does not work, with some practice and steady hand, it can scan well. the problem lies in the fact the software only works windows XP. If your running any other version of windows it will not transfer from the pen to the pc. furthermore Wizcom no longer supports this product. which you can see for your self by following this link. ( [...] ) So there is no supported update to Vista or 7. I tried running this software on a virtual XP drive, which loaded the software but when connecting the pen to PC the new hardware installer, installed a Wizcom update for the pen rendering the pen unable to conncet to the PC via USB. Had the same problem using the compatablity wizard in both Vista and Windows 7 while the pen would conncet the files would be dropped and not sent to ths PC file. over all I cannot recomend this product. One of the newer pens like the elite might work better. To tell the truth I am too leary to buy another one. But will sell this one CHEAP.

The character recognition is not very smart, needs lots of edits. Also the software is not really compatible with any post-xp versions of windows, even if you install it in compatibility mode.

Great ScannerThis is good for student and researcher for take notes.I had no problem install software under window XP. It took me 15 mins to install everything. I downloaded the upgrade software and drive from the website below.The USB communication works fine just plug and play.

It is better to type your own document than waste hours of trying to scan a page.

It's a great toy for students it takes a few minutes to get familiar with the "top speed" you can use to scan, and with the scanning line but when you master it is pretty accurate!You can scan as fast as a highlighter pen, the controls are easy and instinctive (I learn to use it without reading the manual).the only cons. it is a little bigger than a regular highlighter pen, but the non slip grip make it easy to control.It works great.

Does not scan very well. lots of errors and takes a lot of time to correct.
