The Spiritual Power of Sound: The Awakening of Consciousness and the Laws of Nature

Helpful
This short book summarises several key points.1) an anecdote quoted from gurdjieff's work, Beelzebub's tales to his grandson, wherein a Sufi sage demonstrates the power of musical sounds to influence the health of the physical body.2) a description of the situation of human life on the earth, wherein the author states that it would be impossible for the majority of people on the earth to awaken their consciousness, since the devolving consciousness of large numbers of beings is essential to the maintenance of the structure of the mineral kingdom.3) a description of the use and misuse of sexual energy, where the author explains that each of the seven Centers of consciousness in the human organism has its own kind of energy and that it is an abuse of energy for one centre to use the energy from another. He gives many examples to show how energy is misused in this way by almost everyone.4) he divides the great work into three requirements: to be born (spiritually, through sexual creation of the solar astral, mental, and causal bodies) to die (by disintegrating the ego), and to sacrifice for humanity. He gives examples of situations where people omit one or more of these factors and explains the consequences of the omission. There are several other helpful points that I don't mention here.

Another Gnostic Gem
Having read a lot of Gnostic literature, I always find myself coming back to Samael Aun Weor many times. His metaphysical understanding of occult knowledge is some of the best you will come across. "The Spiritual Power of Sound" is another one of those books which enlighten's the reader into the world of sound, matter, energy and consciousness, which mainstream science tend to shy away from. This is a very small book packed with a huge amount of wisdom coming from a time that we know hardly anything about.

Awful book. Has nothing to do with the power ...
Awful book. Has nothing to do with the power of sound. This man likes to hear himself talk. Would not advise buying this book.

Learn about the beautiful technique of non exclusive concentration and a lot more
This secret technique of non exclusive concentration mentioned in this book is impossible to be found in any other book, except if you know Tibetan or Sanskrit, and to find it translated in English, you need to search a lot. But this great Master explains the most beautiful meditation technique very simply. If you wonder how he knows it, read his book "Cosmic Teachings of a Lama"."The seven tones of the great scale, with the wonderful rhythms of the fire, resound in the entire universe." βSamael Aun Weor

Powerful Little Book
This small book is an inspiring, succinct read for anyone new to Gnosis or to esoteric ideas about cosmology, creation, and the nature of our psyche. In this book, Samael Aun Weor outlines both the laws of evolution and creation, and the path that we need to follow if we want to transcend those laws. The book is inspiring, informative, and even at times sweet. I've read many of Samael Aun Weor's books and now count this among my favorites.

The Spiritual Power of Sound: The Awakening of Consciousness and the Laws of Nature - review
Small but very profound book about spirituality, science, laws of Nature, Being, reality, mind, consciousness etc. How the sound is related to the universe, different dimensions etc.Don't be fooled by the size of the book to properly comprehend everything that is in it would require a lifetime of study and meditation. Not to put anyone off by this statement I just want to say that in that book are layers and layers of very deep knowledge that can only be truly revealed by meditation.Few excerpts from the book:The sounding scale of the seven tones exists in the entire cosmos. The seven tones of the great scale, with the wonderful rhythms of the fire, resound in the entire universe.Without the magic of the Word, without music, without creative Verb, the universe would not exist: "In the beginning was the Word."We must never forget that our universe is constituted by seven dimensions and that each of these dimensions has seven sub-planes or regions. There is a universal language of life spoken only by Angel, Archangel, Seraphim, etc. When the sacred fire blooms in our fertile lips made flesh, the word becomes flesh in us. All the mantras known among the occultists are just syllables, letters, and isolated words of the language of the Light. All the sacred Trimurtis from all religions correspond to the three primary forces of the universe.Music, the Word, originates what are called successive processes of the fusion of vibrations. Thanks to the law of the reciprocal nourishment of everything existent, and scientifically, under the impulse of sound vibrations, some vibrations flow from other vibrations. As well, cosmic substances of different densities and vivifications are united and disunited with each other, thus forming great and small, relatively independent concentrations. The outcome of all of this is the universe. The mind only serves as a hindrance to the Being (The Innermost). The mind does not know anything about Reality. If thought knew Reality-Innermost, the Being- then all people would already be comprehensive. We can experience the Being, the Innermost, only through profound meditation. The experience of the Being, the Innermost, transforms us radically. Whosoever has experienced the Being at some time during meditation is cured forever of the danger of falling into mythomania. The Being-the Innermost, the Reality- is totally different form that which the pseudo-occultists and pseudo-esotericists call Superior "I" or Divine "I." The experience of Reality is completely different, distinct from everything the mind has ever experienced. The experience of Reality cannot be communicated to anybody because it does not look like anything that the mind has experienced before. When one experienced Reality, one then comprehends very deeply the disastrous state in which one is abiding, and then only aspires to know oneself without wanting to become more than one is.
