Works great, even with different applications.
These worked great for my application. I ran these on a 2000 F-350 long bed with a '01 Palomino Bronco 1500. I used the Happi Jack bumper mounts that my truck already had on the rear bumper with the Torklift frame mounts on the front. I used 14" of chain to make up the difference on the front that was suggested in another review and it was flawless.

Super Easy to Install and Great Product
Pricey, but these work great. Made tying down the camper a breeze.

CAN be used on Frame mounted tie downs like torklift types.
I have frame mounted tie downs, fabricated by a welder for less than 1/2 the price, but wanted a different type of turnbuckle system than the weird ancient spring cans that came with my used camper. I bought the 4 piece set here on Amazon and they work great IF you install them correctly. There are actually only 2 of them that are spring loaded and two that are dampered. The Spring loaded ones HAVE to go up front. the dampered set goes in back. DONT reverse this or you'll either rip out your camper tie point or break your turnbuckle by putting the dampered ones up front. For the front ones, they will be the ones with the short barrel. You will need about 12-16" of Chain and a chain link adapter. this will probably cost a total of $12 total. I will add pictures. What you need to understand is the dynamics of what is happening to the camper. The forward motion develops resistance which causes a slight up and down movement up front of the cabover and a pivot point near the rear. this is why you need the springs up front. These are designed for happijack fronts which are mounted lower bed level as opposed to the bottom frame type, but this set is so much less expensive than the torklift brand its worth the effort. I traveled this last week over hills and gravel and highway and they worked great. Remember to first thread on the individual jam nuts that come in the small package before you thread the cylinder on. once you mark the rod, start tightening the cylinder and measure the 1/4 mark. Tighten down the jam nut and your set. The rears are a bit of a judgement call, but DO NOT over torque the rear dampners. they could stress your camper tie point. just enough to be able to stay in place with a little extra 1/2 turn.

Good looking product. Had to modify slightly.
Good product. I did have to cut and shorten the threaded rods to accommodate my brackets. I'd recommend using frame mounted tie downs if your camper is very large but these work great for a smaller camper.

Great product and excellent customer service
I've used these turnbuckles twice. The first time, they performed flawlessly. No problems at all. They are easy to put on, easy to take off, and performed the job they were intended to do. The second time, they went on easily, did their job for the weekend. Then, when I took them off, one of the long ones wouldn't loosen up. I had to get a wrench and really crank on the thing to get it off the truck. By the time I got the turnbuckle off, the nut on the end was almost too hot to touch. The threads on the threaded J-hook looked fine, but I couldn't see the threads down at the bottom of the nut. I put a tap down the hole, hoping to clean up whatever was causing the friction, but that didn't fix it. I haven't talked to Lippert yet. I'll update this review after I chat with them.Update: I contacted Lippert/Happijac and let them know about the issue and asked for suggestions to fix the problem. With just one email providiing some photos and measurements, they sent me another turnbuckle and threaded J-hook. Excellent customer service and they stand by their products. I'm changing this to 5 stars.

Seize up quickly
Rear ones are seized and I had to remove the bumper mounts to get them off. Less than 2 years old. Live in Colorado. See no signs of rust. Must be the mag-chloride? Regardless, hard to spend money on them again. I’ll go back to basic turnbuckles on the back.

Good value, good product.
Compared to some of the other turnbuckles out there, these are less expensive and seem to work well. Using them on my 2004 Lance 921, which is a heavy camper. The front turnbuckles are shorter, so I had to buy some heavy duty chain to make sure they would connect to the frame mounts. Good price, good product.
