Dri-Rod Dehumidifier 18 DR-18

This is my second Dri-Rod. The first one was 24 years old an just went bad this month. I'm very pleased with this and recommend them, also made in the USA. This time I bought the 18" model to help cover more of the safe and contents.They are very easy to install, just thread the electric cord through the small hole in back of your safe and place the cord in the plug provided with instructions. Place the heater where it won't contact anything as it gets very hot to the touch. There are two bases with screws provided that attach to the heater.

Installed in a gun cabinet in unconditioned space. Seems to be doing a good job at keeping the humidity at bay. The cabinet stores a selection of pellet rifles. The dehumidifier has made a big difference in the surface rust.

The unit works well and as intended, but a safe should also have a desiccant canister to remove moisture, because as atmospheric pressure changes fresh moist air will always be drawn in when atmospheric pressure (A high) moves in.

Does a great job keeping moisture out of the safe!

If you have a safe you need this to keep your stuff protected. Great value for what it does.

Dose what its supposed to do at a fair price.

Shipping was fast. As far as quality I don’t know yet. It will take sometime in my safe to know if it works or not. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work though because the product has great reviews.

Purchased this from a 3rd party company who installed it. It didn't work. I contacted the installation company who said talk to the manufacturer, Dri-Rod. The mfg questioned my honesty, saying they've never heard of their product not working. Eventually they sent a replacement. The 3rd party company came out and installed the replacement, which is working. The mfg requested the original back, and sent a too small envelope. I asked for a 'what went wrong' report and never heard from em. Not saying your experience will be bad, but mine was.
