VGA Source to HDMI Monitor Adapter

Firstly, look at the order of the ports in the name. This takes VGA output, combines it with power from a USB port, and outputs an HDMI that works with most modern monitors. You need a spare USB port for it, and it only works one way. It's reliable and durable. I've had 2 running for over 3 years without any problems. You'll probably want to get a longer cable to run from the adapter to the monitor as the cables for the adapter inputs are quite short. It's all black, so even though mostly you won't see it because it's behind your PC, it will blend in nicely with the rest of your black cables! Good value

This cord did serve its purpose, helping me connect my laptop to my monitor. The only challenge I experienced I faced is that when I play a video after the connection, I can’t hear the sound.

Great price and works straight out of the box. No trouble connected it to an older computer using the vga screws and connected the USB connector which powers its use and must be done. Plugged in the HDMI and on my 32 inch monitor it looks great!

If your intended purpose is to view a BIOS screen of a computer that only has VGA (like on a Dell PowerEdge server) then this BENFEI VGA to HDMI Adapter may not do what you want. It does work on newer servers but not some older ones. And it works with some displays but not others. No matter what I tried, it would not worh with a Dell R510 until the operating system had loaded. Newer servers, x20 series, work but not with all monitors (even the same monitor where a direct VGA cable works). A machine and monitor where a regular VGA-VGA cable works MAY NOT work when used with the adapter into the HDMI port of the same monitor. I have had mixed results and am quite disappointed. This is not necessarily the fault of the adapter but the fact that it doesn't "just work" for any VGA signal is a disappointment. It does work once the machine is booted but that is not the point. You cannot rely on this to see the BIOS screen of the computer. I returned this item and bought another one by LINDY. That one worked, but with its own issues. But at least it displays the bios screens.
