Tilos Excel, Scuba Diving Snorkeling Free Diving Frameless Mask

I have not used this mask yet, having just received it. I was very much looking forward to it since my snorkel habits, for better or worse include wanting to see what I am heading toward as well as what is below and to do this, especially in shallower waters, I find I am constantly bending my neck back and because of the position end up with slight nausea and/or neck ache. This mask looked like it would help a lot and having put it on I can see that it would. It's a fine mask but unfortunately is not well designed for narrow faces such as mine. My test for masks is to put them on without using the strap and see how well they stay on. by the force of natural suction alone. Any mask that does not pass this test will leak in my experience, unless the strap is so tight it is uncomfortable. I am sorry to report the Tilos frameless failed this test. But that is only because it is designed for a fuller face. Otherwise i can tell I would have loved it as the field of view upwards is excellent.

I bought this because I needed a good mask to dive with contact lenses. I won't be using this for at least 6 more weeks when I travel, but I'll review what I've seen so far. Mask is very light and comfortable, silicone is soft and it seems of good quality. I'm round faced and my girlfriend is not and the mask fitted us both (mask created the propper vacuum seal when my girlfriend tried it but I think it was little bit more conmfortable for me, although she has a small face), field of view is great, can't beat it. The strap seems fine but it doesn't have a neoprene cover which bothers me, but that's easily fixed by adding a neoprene cover of another brand. For what i've read, everyone says it's better to buy the one with black silicone since it prevents view distorsion by lateral reflections, I got the one with black silicone and I don't regret it. After I use it for diving in vietnam I hope to update this review regarding leak and fogging but I think I'll be fine. Hope this helps, best regards

Scuba masks are obviously one of those items that are difficult to purchase site unseen.Online reviews are a good place to start, but you really won't know for sure if it will work for you until you can actually put it on your face.I purchased this mask based on the posted reviews but ended up returning it since I could not get a good seal. My face is just a little narrow for this mask and I had a gap at each temple. Still, I gave the mask 4 stars since the build quality seemed very good and I can't fault the mask just because it din't happen to fit me perfectly. Otherwise it seems like a good piece of gear and the frameless design/single lens provide great visibility.

I haven't used a ton of masks yet for scuba, but this one was perfect. Great little features in the mask. It has neat little raised marks on the corners that help your grip when clearing. The strap quick disconnects which is cool as well. I was hesitant about the clear, but I like the extra light it lets in. It's low volume and close to your face, so that improves the field of view as well. The only negative with low volume that I have found is that you need to equalize the mask pressure more often, but that isn't a big deal at all. I cleaned it a few times with toothpaste before using, and I use a drop of baby shampoo before diving with no fog issues. you can't beat the price either!

This is one of the best masks I have owned. I have been scuba diving for 11 years now and am extremely happy with this product. The field of view is incredible. As with all low profile masks and pretty much every scuba diving masks it has a tendency to fog BUT if you rub the inside of the mask with tooth paste when you first get it it definitely helps. Also before each dive if you put baby shampoo inside the mask then rinse it there will be little to no fogging. I usually mix 1 part shampoo to two parts water. Also i would strongly recommend the black mask over the clear the back masks blocks out light from the sides which gives you better color and light through the front of the mask.

Disclaimer: This is my first low volume mask, so I can only compare it to my other non-low volume masks. The field of view on this is great compared to my other non-low volume masks. With my other masks before, I could not see my d-rings on my shoulders, whereas with the Tilos I can. The fit is good (asian face here), nothing that knocks my socks off. The black skirt is great for vary sunny conditions as well.

I have no clue what the person who rated 4 star is talking about. There are no pins in my mask. The strap is clipped in using a clip. It clicks in place, and stays in place. It is very easy to remove.The view though is spectacular and I couldnt recommend it more. The low dip in the mask provided me more view to the bottom of the sea while diving. It is so comfortable and so light weight.Fog is also not an issue if you just do a rinse with baby shampoo.This is the best mask I have ever used. The view is uninterrupted! 5 stars all the way.

I was very excited to get this mask. The design is excellent. The field of view is fantastic. I purchased this because someone wrote that it fit large faces. Unfortunately, it did not adequately seal for my face. If you have a medium/average sized face, this mask is very comfortable. If only the rubber that sealed laterally on the eyes was 1/2" longer...
