## Description

Yasutomo Hanshi Rice Paper is used for traditional Sumi ink drawing, painting, block printing, watercolor, charcoal, crayon, oil pastels and soft pastels. Fine quality Japanese rice paper measuring 9-1/2 x 13 inches can be used in practical pad or package form and sold as 100 per pack.

Review: Very thin, but great for collage - I primarily use rice paper for my printmaking. When I first ordered this I was surprised by how much more thin it was compared to the other brands I typically use. In the beginning I was telling myself I'd never order it again, but after getting the hang of working with a much thinner paper I've come to actually prefer it for collage pieces. It blends in so much better than the thicker rice paper. It's not really substantial enough to use on its own unless I'm printing a lot of layers on it, and then it kind of builds up a thickness if that makes sense. I work on a Gel Press printing plate, and I love how this paper is thin enough it can pull up every little detail, but substantial enough it doesn't easily tear. I've since purchased it 3 more times, and will continue to use it as my go to collage paper. It's almost like deli paper with the exception that most deli paper isn't meant for artwork and it's really hard to find any that state if they're acid free.

I primarily use rice paper for my printmaking. When I first ordered this I was surprised by how much more thin it was compared to the other brands I typically use. In the beginning I was telling myself I'd never order it again, but after getting the hang of working with a much thinner paper I've come to actually prefer it for collage pieces. It blends in so much better than the thicker rice paper. It's not really substantial enough to use on its own unless I'm printing a lot of layers on it, and then it kind of builds up a thickness if that makes sense. I work on a Gel Press printing plate, and I love how this paper is thin enough it can pull up every little detail, but substantial enough it doesn't easily tear.
