NUBS.
You truely don't get the full power of Reason until you buy ReCycle.I find that most of the negative reviews of ReCycle are from NUBS who didn't even know what it was for in the first place! This program is essential if you already own Reason. I own Reason 5/Record 1.5 and ReCycle 2.1.I use an AKAI MPD26 as my MIDI interface, which is just like a traditional sampler the way I have it set up.1. The interface is very user friendly as you would expect from Propellerhead.2. You don't need to be a Hip-Hop artist to take advantage of ReCycle - This is a natural way to Decimate your own bass/kick tracks for speaker pounding bass.3. Artists today resample their tracks a ton of times to produce their final sound. Simply putting effects on your instruments isn't enough.4. Looping is a must! Even non loop-based music is created by making a loop, altering starting and stopping points in the loop (as a creation process), then converting it back to a regular composition.5. Think about it, ReCycle ads another major effect to your audio tracks that you can't get without it. For me it's just another necessary creation tool regardless of the genre. As far as that NUB who said this product was a waste, he doesn't have enough common sense to realize the greyed out features were because he was using the "TRIAL VERSION."If you think ReCycle is only for taking a sample and chopping it up, you are sorely mistaken. It's the secret that your favorite artists possess, which you are constantly looking for.I don't even scratch the surface of what ReCycle is capable of with this review, but I feel the need to inform potential buyers. If I made my decision to buy or not to buy ReCycle based on the current reviews, I would have been misinformed.Happy Shopping

Price Drop! Now only $99. Search google.
New price drop! $99. One of the best tools available for slicing samples & loops. The other is Sound Forge which has auto region. Recycle is now $99. This is highly recommended for hip hop producers. If you load a loop to slice you can save It as a rex file. You can load a whole song and export the wavs and review them in Maschine or Ableton. You'll end up with hundreds of slices but you can delete the ones you don't like. Just keep in mind that saving a whole song as a rex file will not sync up to you DAW'S tempo properly. If you want that, you need to create a loops from the song and then slice the loops. It allows you to export all slices as wav files as well so you can load them in other software or samplers.

The Enigmatic Swiss Army Knife Of Audio Chopping
This is a complete re-write of my review for ReCycle. Upon the release of Reason 7 the major features of ReCycle have now been properly incorporated into Reason itself! It is no longer required to use ReCycle during the Reason workflow--detecting transients, creating slices, quantizing slices, and exporting loops to the Rex modules are all now native features of Reason, and we have this program to thank for it.ReCycle is well-loved by those who understand it and has been for many many years. Up until now it has been a fairly specialized tool known by seemingly few producers. This is amazing to me since ReCycle's 'slicing' technology is some of the most ingenious audio code I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy utilizing. Audio is cut into "slices" which get detected via amplitude spikes (aka transients) which then gives greater control and accuracy to pitch/time modification. This alone put Reason's Rex technology a level above the industry status-quo. I've seen producers with "all-Rex" based Reason racks while others use Rex loops and slices in completely different ways. The notion that Reason's ReCycle technology gives an un-ending degree of musical blocks to play with is an understatement. We are at the beach and there are as many possibilities as there are grains of sand. Excuses for not rendering your musical ideas? There are none. For most owners of Reason 7 or higher separate ownership of ReCycle will probably be unnecessary. ReCycle remains a stand-alone product that can be used to create Rex files for use in any DAW that supports Rex files! It has its own set of processing features and utilizing ReCycle does not require one to own Reason at all. Five stars, even at this price for being the true champion of audio chopping, especially now that Reason 7 has the goods.

Can't Register / License the Product - UNUSABLE
I'm waiting for them to fix the website, so I can register the product and finish the installation process. This is called "punishing the paying customers" with too much copy protection. Honest customers are punished. If you're thinking of buying this, I recommend looking at freecycle (redsteamrecords) and supporting that project. Recycle has a monopoly on the REX file format, and this product is way overpriced for what it offers.
