Do the ends look chewed up when using it?

No not really! As those are the ends next to the wall it really doesn’t matter. We use this on a couple of houses and I love the fact, NO dust!

I need to cut vct, commercial grade tile for a church building. anyone had any experience using this on this type of flooring?

My husband used this tool on Luxury Vinyl Tile....did and excellent job and stated it should handle commercial composite tile but not standard porcelain and other hard tiles...

Will a Cutthrough asphalt shingles

It probably will cut through asphalt shingles, the only problem is the blade will eventually wear out faster because of the grit that is embedded into the shingles. I would contact their customer service department to find out.

Much preferable to sawing.

I like this but if I were honestly planning on a LOT of floor installations I would have gone for a more expensive one. This one does tend to leave a bit of rough edge to the cut. That said, the only real issue I have with this one is that it is a bit hard to see exactly where it is going to cut unless you get right down by the blade and test press the handle. Bit of a glitch in the work flow. Aside from that touch of roughness on the cut, and almost all of the flooring this thing cuts ends up with all the cuts hidden upon installation, this thing is great for light use. If you have a lot of floor to install, you might want to go for the more high-end cutters from this same company but if you are only doing a small amount of flooring installation, save yourself a couple hundred bucks and get this one. Either way, you really don't want to saw laminate flooring all day long, believe me.

Cuts a lot of work

Very nice addition for putting down LVP. Have always used a saw when laying LVP flooring, this is a vast improvement.

great cutter!

i was pleasantly surprised when i got the cutter. quality vinyl plank cutter @ this price. delivery was fast, easy to assemble..........7 screws (another person would help) . my first cut on sample of plank that i'm about to install was easy, straight, and with a minimum of effort. my wife even tried it and was surprised that she could cut this 1/4" plank so easily.

Must have for flooring

This thing is a HUGE time saver. I did a floor that would have taken all afternoon in less than 2 hours. Just measure, cut and lay them down. It makes perfect 90 degree cuts and seems pretty rigid so far. The tile I was putting down was pretty thin so it may be more difficult with thicker gauge material.
