Was looking for a star book with figures drawn and this is it. It's so much easier to make out the constellations that way.

A very enjoyable and interesting book.It has no math or complicated formulae in it. Amazing book that helped drive my interest in astronomy as a child. However, there is a typo on page 119: Neptune's average distance from the Sun should be 2.8 billion miles, not million.

This book is very interesting, rich in pictures and information, very useful guide to locate constellations and stars. It also includes hints when buying equipment (binoculars or telescopes). Eyewitness Companions: Astronomy (EYEWITNESS COMPANION GUIDES)

This book is appropriately named as a companion book,...the kind that is small enough to take with you, and it will give you ideas of potential sky objects to view or photograph that night. Nice reading, and good photographs to aid you. Excellent for beginners and intermediates alike.

An excellent introduction to the study of astronomy - beautifully presented, like all DK books, and reasonably priced.

Bought as a gift. It looked good and 16yr old grandson did get off his computer for all of half an hour to look through it, and he actually said "Thanks this looks great" . I think that's a success!
