You open the package they start to heat up the last for the indicated number of hours it does what it's supposed to do does it get crazy hot no, but it's not supposed to. Will it keep things from freezing Yes Will it keep things from dying from cold Yes. It was a good price it did the job so I'm satisfied.

These are pretty heavy heat packs, but, they are 72 hours so I completely understand. The main reason I brought up the weight is unless you're using flat rate shipping you will pay a bit more. I don't always ship very heavy creatures and these weigh a little more than most things I'm sending, but they do keep them warm 😉

I ship alot of plants during winter so I can't do without these. They work amazing and so far in the few times I have bought 10 packs, I have not gotten one dud. They have made it possible for me to continue to ship in cold weather so they are such great product! Will definitely be a regular buyer of these 😀

I ordered these packs to have a backup to the heating pads for hurricane season. Went on vacation on decided to use these for the driving portion of the trip. Unfortunately, only a few worked out of the pack of 10 I ordered. The instructions are simple. Open them to expose to air. Hours later, no heat can be felt with most of the packs. I used this brand before in the past and they were great. Not anymore. My old packs expired so they weren't able to be relied on.

I thought we would have to shut down our online store for the winter. Instead, bought these, gave the customers to add a heat pack to thier order, and now we are not only still shipping in Winter, but our profits went up! Even shipped from here, Wisconsin, to Oregon, and they all arrived alive and well thanks to these heat packs.

I use these to ship with my plants in the winter. Majority of the time they work fine, but at least one or two out of every 10 pack is a dud that gets tossed out. It seems to be heavily dependent on the seller, too. Once I opened 5 at once (from the same order) and EVERY ONE was a dud. Make sure you open them early before you start packing to give them time to warm up to ensure you won't be losing your product in transit and you'll be fine.

Arrived much earlier than expected and as described. Heat pack started warming up about 30-40 minutes after removing from packaging; directions were clear and no shaking/squeezing required. Exactly what I needed; Thank you
