Is it 1060 or 1045 carbon steel

I had the sword and it lasted me about 15 minutes to do my first test you might not want to go with this cheap model for a few dollars more you can get something that is 1060 high carbon steel there's a couple on the on Amazon you might want to look into keywords are 1060 high carbon steel good luck

Does it have made in China on the blade?

It does have china stamped on the brass fitting above the guard. Its a well made sword though. I just wish it was 1095 steel instead of 1040. If you sharpen it yourself it can be razor sharp. I use valve grinding compound from automotive store on a leather strop and its a deadly sharp sword now

All good weapons need maintenance like oil and sharpening when used. Put in a dry place like a wall for decoration etc, it will hold well between oilings. But steel is made of iron and iron does rust under poor, moist conditions. Bottom line: take care of your sword and it will hold up well. Neglect it and you may have rust to contend with.
