Bright but needs regular charging
Impressed with the brightness of this rear light however, the cost is that it requires more regular charging than lesser units. My journeys tend to be 3-5 hrs three times a week and I prefer to keep the rear light on at all times whilst cycling for obvious safety. Thus I find that it needs recharging every other journey where as the previous Cateye only required charging once a month. I have this light set at the brightest flash. The fitting also works on a round seat post as well as the aero post so that was a useful extra. The main reason for purchase is the side effect of the red light thus showing drivers on a side view a clear confirmation of the back of my bicycle. The light is bright enough to expose the whole of the rear wheel in red light again clearly showing the length of the bicycle. Truly a simple but effective safety feature on dark busy roads with lots of junctions.

Very bright and great battery life but beware of fitting method
I already had one of these lights and bought another two for family. They're bright, have a good selection of settings and the the battery seems to last for ages. That said, there are two versions of the lights: one whereby you attach the light with a rubber strap and another where you fix a clip to the bike (using a screw driver) and then slot the light into the clip.I received one of each when I ordered two lights and decided to only keep the one with the strap. The strap fitting is nice and secure and the light can easily be moved from one bike to another (which is not possible with the clip for to the bike). That said, if you don't bother switching lights/bikes then you're probably fine with either form of attachment.Returns process with the seller I bought from was nice and easy.

Unbelievably cool and bright light
I would highly recommend this rear light to everyone. As someone who used AA/AAA rear lights in the past these new gen LED lights are amazing. The light at night is as strong and visible as the brake lights on a car. Also the light has some really cool light patterns like the pulse and relay. I mainly stick to the brightest setting for riding home from work. You cant put a price on your safety but for the money is has to be one of the best tail lights i've seen fitted to any bike on the steet. No one (and i live amongst a strong cycling community) has a tail light as effective as this one

Brilliant but un-usable
As Lights go, this is far superior to anything I had before.BUT the build around the rubber on/off button must be better. After 2 weeks my light is now permanently ON. The button disappeared inside the light itself. Now its un-usable.Without this issue - 5 stars.

Not water resistant
Only used the light three times and not in the rain...... condensation all over the inside of the light and it stopped working after a few months

Decent light
Works well. It has a wide angle and various settings with good brightness at the sides. The battery has a decent life. It’s perfectly fine for commuting, perhaps with a secondary light in the winter.

extreme bright
This is an extremely bright light, probably best not use it at highest setting.

Watch out
Rubber fixing around saddle is liable to ping off = lost light !Light unit itself great.

Super contento

Endgame?
UPDATE! Put about 10 miles (16km) on and so far so good. As my initial review (below) mentions I don't ever ride in rain so that's the only thing I can't speak on. Everything else is great thus far. Still 5 stars and highly recommended.I have only installed and tested it indoors thus far. However the brightness of this thing is no joke I suffered from flash spots (blinding light effect) the first time I made the mistake of switching it on facing directly toward me. It is a bit of a pain to mount on aero seat posts because the aero band doesn't stretch that much but this also means it clamps VERY securely in place. My only concern is that for the amount of tension exerted on the band that it may fail prematurely but time will tell. I was really unhappy with my previous bike light so I don't have a great foundation to compare this one to but it seems decently made. I love that it indicates blue or red everytime you switch it off which lets you know when it requires charging. I also love that the charge light switches from red to blue when it's completely charged. I love the various mode options but most of all I love the fact that whatever mode you prefer to use will be retained each time you switch the light off and back on. This way you don't have to ever go fiddling through the modes if you have one fixed mode you prefer which is EXACTLY why I hated my previous bike light (apart from the fact that it also had blue and green flashes for whatever ungodly reason). I NEVER ride in rain or even a light drizzle so I may never know how water proof this thing is. I'll report back regarding battery life performance but my habit is to charge after every ride instead of waiting for a battery to be depleted.
