Date code? does this battery come with a date code sticker?

No, it does not come with a date code. In fact several came DOA and stayed flat or could not charge (interrupted interior circuit). That is a sign of reconditioneded batteries. The seller did replace them no questions asked.

Anyone know the difference between this and other 12v 9ah batteries? no other 12v 9ah batteries mention the watt / cell or discharge characteristics.

Many of the cheaper manufacturers do not actually rate their cells, time for a bit of research. http://csb-battery.com/english/01_product/02_detail.php?fid=7&pid=28

When you purchased this csb battery - did you actually recieved a csb brand battery?

Yes, I ordered 6 for my APC XS 1500 and APC BR24BP battery pack, and received 6 CSB branded batteries.

What are the physical dimensions of the battery?

Approximate Dimensions: H 3.88" x L 5.94" x W 2.56"
