Excellent cuttter
Cutter works well, ,very sharp. Used on a ShopBot CNC Router to plane a live end cut of sugar maple that i am making a table out of.

Works perfect, is very cost effective in the long run....
I plane large live edge slabs and also large lumber that is too wide for my jointer. This bit works perfectly and at the end of the day is probably the most economical to use. The inserts are not expensive and easy to change so you are always ready to go. No more sending bits out to get resharpened every time you need to make a piece of wood flat!!! The inserts last a long time too. We have a lot of minerals in the wood here and blades/bits don't seem to last as long as they could, but the carbide inserts work great. I flattened 8 large slabs on both sides before I moved them once!!! Don't try to take too much and don't try to go too fast. Also, take care not to over tighten the inserts. I am a little picky when it comes to what seems like expensive tooling...buy with confidence!!!

This came recommended
I'm new to using a router but needed to plane resin river tables I'm making. This one came highly recommended. I knew it was pricier and a cheaper one might suffice but I was warned I'd be spending as much on replacing the cheaper ones than if I just went ahead and got this one. It really did the job. I've used it a few times w bithbresin and woods of different hardness and it's worked great.

This is better economically to run these bits and replace the blades
I use these for flattening large slabs, and I frequently fill voids with epoxy. As such, I burn through a lot of bits. This is better economically to run these bits and replace the blades. Changing blades is pretty easy - you do need to put them in a vice to get these off w/out cutting you, but they register very good against the side. My only complaint is you need to take the screw all the way out before rotating to a new side. Because of this, sometimes it will come out and it will fall and I'll lose track of which side I was turning to - I found that it's best to mark the old side with a black marker to prevent this in the future. The blades are not inexpensive - a complete set of 4 will set you back about $16, but you do get 4 sides. I did have one bit explode on my while on the 4th side and it caused the bit to dig about 1/8" into my slab, causing me to have to do yet another pass. Not happy.Overall a decent bit, well constructed, but if a bit blows, it will dig into your work-piece, and the screws could be longer so I could loosen & rotate in place.
