Astonishing!!! I’m a female senior citizen who never climbed anything higher than a three-step stepping-stool. Alex Honnold is an extraordinary marvel of an athlete and a pretty terrific human being. I also bought his book “Alone on the Wall” and highly recommend. Truly astonishing feats that defy gravity. Alex is a determined and truly gifted climber. I have watched hundred of videos featuring his efforts and accomplishments, his foundation work and life in general. He’s truly amazing. Highly recommend. Thank you.

A great documentary. What an achievement! Dont miss this one.

I never heard of Alex Honnold, but I certainly know National Geographic and Jimmy Chin. Jimmy Chin filmed "Meru" and that was very well done. I have stood at the base of El Capitan many times and I looked up and I said not for me. I have hiked up the trail to Yosemite Falls and Wow that is Lovely, Spectacular, & Awesome. Made my Day. When I heard about this Alex fella doing El Capitan without ropes or saftey measures of any kind, I had to see this video. I knew it was going to be good with Jimmy Chin, and his crew, behind the camera.There are not enough "Stars" to rate this video correctly and give it enough credit. There are no boring moments about this story from start to finish. It is a very Interesting and Inspiring Human Interest Story, luckily it is not just about the Climb.Most of us Think that we know how to Focus and Concentrate on Events in our Life. After seeing this we have a lot to learn. To me this Documentary is so well done it is Teary, and I am sitting in my soft chair. Alex obviousley knows the risks involved, who wouldn't, but he feels that he has the confidence and experience after studying this rock for many years. It appears that Alex has mastered the human emotion of Fear and has dealt with it appropriately. So many of us let our Fears control our Life, and that sets our Limitations.Anyway I streamed this video off Amazon and after watching it with Awe, it is a Keeper, so I ordered the disk. I like DVD disks better because you go behind the scenes on many of them.Many Thanks to Alex, Jimmy Chin and his awsome film crew, National Geographic etc.. for bringing this to us. You don't have to be a mountain climber to be Inspired and Terrified at the same time by watching this video like I was and still am. This story you don't forget.

In this version they edited the real emotional language used in some scenes, which to me detracts from the raw emotion the documentary emits. I wish they had the original version shown in theaters. :(

Such an amazing movie to watch

Well, since I was a climber, and a free solo fan. I had to watch this, to see Alex Hannold. We all know who HE is, and more so, WHAT HE WAS GOING TO ATTEMPT TO DO... TO CLIMB... FREE SOLO.... EL CAPPY!!!!!!! I'm like, "HUH??? WHAT????? IS HE OUT OF HIS MIND??????? NO WAYYYYY!!!!! DUDE!!!!!!!! followed by OMG HE'S GONNA DIE. JUST "ONE-SLIP".... JUST.... ONE and POOF.... YOU'RE DONE FOR!!! TOAST.... HISTORY.... ARCHIVED!!! WHAT A FILM-DOC... THANK ALEX and CREW-FRIENDS. WOW... won't EVER forget it.

He lived!

Incredible two year adventure getting ready to climb the biggest exposed piece of Granite in the World. El Capitan in Yosemite National Park beautiful story and lifestyle of Alex Honnold and his goal to do the impossible climb. Along with boy meets girl and what can happen when two paths cross too! Still great climbing and a climbing movie that will go down in history as a once in a lifetime adventure. I feel if your a rock climber you will respect what it takes to do this and if your not you might want to learn after watching what climbing can do for you and the adventures that go with it. I recommend this movie two thumbs up.

Je suis un fan d’Alex Honnod, donc j’avais vraiment hâte de voir ce vidéo. Je n’ai pas été déçu. Il n’est pas suicidaire, il est juste passionné. Il ne se lance pas dans une aventure, les yeux fermés. Il est patient et attend d’être prêt avant de mettre a exécution un projet, quel qu’il soit. Définitivement, sa grimpe sur El Capitan nous tient assis sur le bout de chaises et sur le stress total. Quel grimpeur, quel athlète au mental d’acier. Bravo!

Because I found I couldn't stop watching this documentary, I decided to buy it. After viewing it many times I still have to peek at parts through my fingers. It was gut-wrenching and fascinating.

It had details of the climbs and of getting ready for them....also some personal stuff that was very interesting.My husband ordered it and is over the moon he's so pleased.

This was a well received gift for someone else. He had seen the documentary on TV and is pleased to have his own copy.

The film and feat of Alex Honnold is stunning and insane! Unfortunately the picture quality of this DVD is very disappointing. I would not recommend purchasing this DVD.
