Yep, it's a bean hook
If you ever walked beans as a kid, you know what this is. It's just the same as it was 30 or 40 years ago, and just as good, and just as bad. They presharpen these before they paint them, but you'll probably want to buff up the edge when you get it even if it's just to knock the paint off. I use mine to cut vines as well as weeding and thinning in the garden. If you haven't used one of these before, it also has a blade on the heel of the hook so that you can push through stalks that are too flexible to be hooked. It's also a good idea to make some burrs on the edge to catch the smaller weeds so that they don't just bend before the hook.

Not sharpened at all
The overall design and sturdiness of the product is what I expected but the fact that the cutting surface is not sharpened at all makes it almost completely useless

It works
This is an item I had a difficult time locating in any retail stores. Thankfully, I could find it on Amazon. It does the job it is supposed to do. The occasional tough weed is still resistant, but when you let them grow as big as I sometimes do, there is nothing that will cut them easily.

Describe your product better
I was shocked that the red metal ferral was loose and the fact it wasn't sharpened at all

Why I chose this product
This product is useful in weeding out noxious plants from around the farm. It has a long enough handle that you do not have to bend over to cut the weed at the base.
