Lightkiwi Q3977 Hardwire Kit, Direct Wire for LED Under Cabinet Lighting - 40 Watt

Works as expected for the most part..I must say that I have ZERO electrical work experience. I am fairly handy... and remodeling my first place.The wall plate is cheap. I got lutron throughout my house so I threw that away.I placed the power supply in a cabinet about a foot up from the switch that powers my two kitchen island LEDs so I added the under cabinet lighting to that same switch (4x12 and 2x6 inch lightkiwi stripes, day light). I routed extra wire 14 gauge with a coat hanger (that was a pain). The only major beef I have is the LEDs aren't as bright installed the way i have them than plugged into an outlet with the cheap power supply then provide with the lights.Pros: easy install, straight forward instructions (1 simple schematic) small and easy to hide.Cons: cheap wall plate, could NOT chose a different color dimmer. I have black switches in my kitchen so i have to buy a lutron diva black dimmer...you should get TWO small coupling cones. There isn't much room in the box.LED aren't as bright as they can be.

The hardwire kit with the dimmer is great, I love the ability to dim the lights because I went with the white or hot light. This is great task lighting but it is not very appealing if you are using it for indirect lighting. The white light is cold and industrial like, great for working though. I did have an issue with the wiring. The directions are very explicit, the purple wire goes to the striped wire... and if that doesn't work switch them around? Great instructions guys, I did have to switch them around after I had everything connected, It is fairly easy to install, the toughest part is hiding the wires in the cabinets

It appears that the transformer works, but I believe the included wire is too thin.After a couple of hours, the lights turn off for no reason, and will not turn on for several hours. The thin wire between the transformer and the first light becomes very warm.When I plug in the wall transformer that came with the lights, it will work for as long as it is plugged in, and it works great!I have contacted the seller for a thicker wire, hoping that this will repair the system. Hopefully they will be quick in their response.

Ordered 2 of these for my son. One came dead on arrival. He is having to deal with that now. Hope it can be rectified quickly as he needs to get his kitchen in order for Christmas. Other than that, the other one is fine. He's pleased with it.

I used this along with 7 LED light bars. works great and produces a nice clean white light over my counter top. Easy hookup if your comfortable installing a new light switch. i would recommend this product.

What a great product! Installs and works as advertised. I hard-wired it with the transformer and dimmer switch package. Worth every penny to have it be wired and switched with standard switch and dimmer. The warm white is great and they easily provide enough light for tasks and dim for mood/background lighting. Highly recommend the product for price, ease of installation, and functionality.

Although the Lightkiwi lighting kits come with a modular dimmer, I preferred to have the dimmer mounted in the wall box. This Hardwire Kit did exactly what it was supposed to do. I just finished installing the Hardwire Dimmer Kit and all of the LED strips under my kitchen cabinets. I couldn't be happier with the way the project turned out.

Unfortunately didn't receive everything that's in the kit. Otherwise a good product...
