Are these hard to light? Other ones I had to use the stove because I thought it would drain the light fluid.

Our bricks are larger than most incense cones, making them a bit harder to light. The upside to this is that they burn longer and produce more incense. Hold the brick over a flame until the brick burns by itself. This will cause the brick to expand at the burning end. After the brick has stopped flaming, gently blow on the burning ember. Place the brick in the center of the censer (or incense burner), unlit end down. If the brick should fall over or is laid on its side, the flame may go out. Customer Support

I'm looking for incense with the sweet smell of a closed or freshly opened pinion pine cone. Does the wood incense have a sweet scent?

This Pinon incense smells exactly as if I'm in the Southwest. I personally don't think of it as sweet smelling. I truly smell Pinon wood. I think you'll love this. Especially around the Holidays, I use it a lot and I'm always complimented on the smell of my home even after a few days of not lighting one to burn.

Can I use these bricks in my indoor fireplace with other wood?

Think of our incense as miniature pieces of firewood. They are 1" in length by .25" in width by 1" in height. We recommend burning these incense using an incense holder. Customer Support

Unfit for purpose

These are curious things. Little pieces of wood, which you are supposed to light but they are impossible to light. They just keep on going out. I returned them.

Disappointed

Never write bad reviews, but this product doesn’t work. Smokes so much that your entire room is in a cloud—smells like burning rather than pine. Disappointed.

This is exactly what I was looking for. The smell is a replica of that wonderful fall camping woodfire. The smell is a bit intense for the first minute as you are lighting the incense, but it then mellows out and is not overwhelming. It can bit a bit difficult to burn at first if you don't know how to start a real fire. I hold the brick over a candle instead of a lighter or match to make it easier. Let the end of the brick catch just a bit of fire and then blow on the lit end a few times.
