I don't recommend these to be used as advertised, as they fly apart the first you drop them.. Which brings me to why I DO recommend them... They're a standard C-Media chip, compatible with just about anything you want to plug them into; they're easily disassembled (as previously noted); they sound OK for what they are (don't hook them to your BOSE, you'll hurt yourself); and are the perfect device for re-purposing into, say, a hand-held raspberry pi emulator setup.. Which is exactly why I wanted them... If I could have found just the boards themselves for the same price or less, I'd have bought those instead. But these work for just a couple builds....

raspberry pi has a horrible sound card that buzzes constantly. Added this and it works great. Only time will tell if it lasts long but there's not much going on inside the usb device so it should last.

The onboard microphone jack for my machine didn't work very well, but this device was able to clearly pick up my microphone.
