I was very happy with these smoke detectors. There were even batteries in each so I could use them right away.

don't waste your money
the screws that come with it are the wrong size and stick out so it doesn't fit on the base plate, but worse, they did not work with smoke or heat. This is false security, shame on you Amazon for selling these...

I replaced the cheap battery with an alkaline, Nice size.

Not super loud
I'm a little worried about the low level of sound being able to wake the family in the event of a fire. Hasn't gone off when I've burned food cooking.

Do not waste your money on these!
Waste of money. The bracket was very difficult to remove. This was necessary to access the battery compartment. The batteries were dead. The instructions were carefully followed, but these do not work.

Good deal.
The smoke detectors don't feel cheap. They have a good feel. Battery installed easy enough. Simple to mount. Chirper chirped loud. I believe with fire & smoke detectors the more the merrier. I haven't had them long enough to rate the batteries.

Did not go off!
These were a bit difficult to put together and install. We wanted to purchase new ones before our grandchildren came to stay with us. We ended up having a house filled with smoke and neither of these detectors went off! Somehow my husband forgot he had bacon in the oven and went outside for a bit. The kids were upstairs and started screaming there’s smoke! Thank God we didn’t have a true fire in our home in the middle of the night who knows what could have happened? We took them down and went to our local hardware store and bought new ones again!
