The size of the football is definitely not suitable for a 12 year old. Not sure on the exact size of it, but it's even too small for my 4 year old son to throw. Great set but we use a regular nerf size football instead of this. It works for my 2 year old daughter to play with.

how wide is it field goal posts

On the one I purchased, the posts are 4 ft apart; the support post adjusts from 4-6 feet in height.

perfect!

my nephew is going to love this! All he does is talk about and play football, and when he plays in the yard he uses the basketball post and mailbox. He is going to love the up grade and a new football too!

It's not as durable as I'd hoped. Just need to add water or sand to the base to make it more stable.

Fun except...

My son loves it so far except the tee for kicking the ball is very filmsy. It broke in the 1st hour of play. Otherwise good fun.

Absolutely Wonderful for Hours of Play and Fun!

An absolute hit with my 10 year old son. We spend hours in the park playing football with him practicing field goals. The adjustable height works perfectly. Being able to fill the base with water or sand keeps it sturdy even when windy. Very easy to put together and take apart. The football is perfect size for practicing with the goal posts. I can say enough about how much he loves this set. It was his favorite Christmas gift! Even above the XBox One. :)

Son likes but won’t last and not worth the price.

I bought this for my son who is 6 who loves football. He likes it. I don’t think it will last long by how and what it is made of. It is basically pvc pipe. If you had time you could make your own. The base looks like it should be fillable to make it more sturdy. You can’t really use it in the extended higher position as it is to floppy then like it will fall over with a light breeze blows. It was a gift and was missing the pump and it came in a brown unmarked box. Also the football it comes with is really small. Smaller than a junior sized football.

How to put a smile on your grandson's face for Christmas !

Just buy this. My grandsons are 7 and 8 yo and live 800 miles apart. We got this for our 7 yo grandson here in town, as his daddy is the local high school football coach. This little boy lives and dreams sports! We set it up in their great room just to see what we were dealing with. It was very easy to assemble. The quality of the tubing was very sturdy. Soon after, we have had rain storms and high winds so we haven't set it up in the back yard yet. We know he will have months and years of fun kicking field goals and making touch downs. !
