Be careful use with supervision.
So, we’ve had these for a year. No issues. My boys are 5 and 3 and LOVE playing pirates and explorers. These are the same old style, simple kaleidoscopes I remember having as a kid. So much fun! The outside is a cardboard tube with plastic ends. The inside is mirrored. Long thin glass mirrors. My 5 year old is autistic. Developmentally, he is only around 3 years old. He doesn’t understand dangerous things. The cardboard had started to peel on one of the two we had. He picked it and unrolled the tube, exposing the glass. I saw on our camera he was snapping something. There were SHARDS. Tiny shards everywhere. Little slivers across the floor where the glass splintered as it cracked and on the sheet in his bed where he was sitting… He wasn’t hurt, but made a huge mess in under 5 minutes. It could have been bad.If yours starts to age, get a new one. They’re a few dollars. Don’t keep them. Let your kids play with them with you. Just know it can be dangerous.

Entertaining
Bought these for my 3 year old son. He loves them and they keep him entertained for quite a bit. He has dropped them a few times, even thrown one across the bedroom, and they didn't get damaged.

Kaleidoscopes as Effective Reinforcers in Child Therapy
"I really like using kaleidoscopes as reinforcers in my work with children. They are engaging, visually stimulating, and provide a fun sensory experience that helps motivate and encourage positive behavior during sessions."

Not worth the price
Very low quality in color adjustment and the "telescope" doesn't really do anything. Very cheap and not worth the price.
