Good, but ultimatly dissapointing for me
Having read the reviews of this as well as cheaper equivalents I ordered a set to do a specific job - removal of a bolt that had rusted in an alloy wheel (it held a cover on, not the wheel to the car). The bolt had snapped off a few years ago when the tyres were replaced, but I had high hopes for this along with a can of English Abrasives 801-10 Plusgas Aerosol 200ml to do the job.Once I got the hang of the burnisher end (push hard), it was going well. Then the thread to remove the bolt went in and bit. My electric drill couldn't shift it, and it seemed stuck, so I had to resort to hand tools. Well despite it looking like the common hex shoulder, there were protrusions meaning it didn't go into a normal holder, needing a longer one to marry up to my socket set. After things were looking like they were moving, snap, the end was off. I managed to free the broken bits, but I was dissapointed to not be able to get the bolt out. In the end I drilled out the bolt and will re-tap, and hopefully have my alloy wheel cover back on...So in summary, the burnisher is good, but it cannot handle the torque for a really stuck bolt. And be aware that the larger one may not fit in an existing hex shoulder.

Sceptical at first, but works!
I’ve never heard of these before, after some google searches, I came across these . Worked really well - I managed to remove to screws with worn out heads.Although they cost a bit more then others, but then, they seem good quality.

Limited Application
I bought this set with a specific job in mind, removing the doors from a couple of outbuildings on my property. The doors have been hanging since long before WWII, and no way could I shift the slot-headed hinge screws so I invested the money for this Trend product. Previously I've been impressed with Trend, especially their Snappy range, but as soon as this set came out of the packet my spirits sank. The two tools are supplied in an anonymous opaque plastic box of the lowest possible quality and bearing no branding or hint of what it might contain. Nasty packaging doesn't have to mean a nasty product, but it often works that way.The instructions do say the tools are intended for use on alloy screws. OK, steel is an alloy (iron and carbon) but the burnisher ends of the tools made no real impression on the screw heads. Eventually I drilled into the screw heads, and the thread-cutting ends of the tools were able to secure a purchase in the resultant holes in some of the screws, about half, and it was then easy to remove them. For the rest, a certain amount of brute force and chisel action was needed. If you come across stuck screws/bolts made of soft material such as aluminium or cheddar cheese, then I believe this set could be a good buy. But for tougher jobs, forget it. The first law of DIY says nothing is ever easy, and the law is not mocked.

No use for slotted screws
Bought these to remove some old slotted screws stuck in timber, they didn't work at all. It's difficult to keep the bit centered in the slot when making the initial hole and once the hole was created (which took a really long time) the tapered end of the bit didn't grip at all and the screws stayed firmly in place. Haven't tried them with Phillips screws yet, might be ok for those.

Not as good as i had hoped for but the first few times they worked very well...
I know that Trend are meant to be a highly reliable brand but i have only managed to remove a small percentage of damaged screws with this tool. It just seems that after the first few uses, it just doesn't have the strength to keep boring out the heads, in order to then grip them with the threaded end. There are many out there like this, which i haven't tried, as i thought that i was buying the best brand available. Either mine are a defective version or other people are doing something that i am not and let's face it - you can't go far wrong when using this item. Maybe if i buy a new set, i will be pleasantly surprised...

Absolutely worked for me for M2.5 camera screws
So I hardly write reviews but this product was a godsend so thought it was only fair to share. I had an expensive japanese cinema camera lens to service with all 4 main screws holding it together having been damaged by someone not using proper JIS screwdrivers in an attempt to disassemble (not me!). It was looking like I would have to drill them out on the mill when I came across this product. It appealed as my screws were M2.5 and the smallest of these is meant for M3 so I thought it might work. In addition, the angle of the lens mount meant a thicker shaft bit would not have worked: these are as thin as a thin screwdriver. Anyway, I managed to get all 4 screws out with this without generating too much swarf or damaging the rest of the lens. Well worth it!

would have been better just drilling it out with a pound shop bit than this set ! waste of money
Followed instructions to the letter on 2 drive screws stuck in a caddy, first bit I tried correct size for the screw I smoothed it as instructed, could not get the other side to bite at lowest RPM so applied a little pressure and bit snapped in half..... second drive screw thats stuck I rinse and repeat with larger size for larger size screw. It doesnt bite either.I would have been better just using a pound shop bit and going straight through the screw and saving my self 20 quid on what appears to be a screw remover that cant remove screws....

It really did the job
I was faced with a front door hinge that I needed to replace the screws on - I think they had last been screwed in 20 years or so ago and the threads had been mangled then.Ignore the instructions that come with these - I followed them to the letter and got no joy. Then I gave it one more try - drilling slowly into the screw head a few millimetres (3 sometimes 4) then reversing the tool and trying the extraction end. It gripped it and out came the screw. Brilliant, within minutes I had them all out and replaced and the door hanging the way I wanted it.Will keep this little set in my tool bag for future use.
