Stylish Function & Comfort
I have been using Futuro black stockings (between medium and strong pressure) for over 8 years to mitigate the swelling in my legs and ankles caused by atrial fibrillation. I tried XL at the beginning, but after a few hand washings, they would stretch and become too long, irritating the skin on the rear of the knee area, or, if I folded down the tops, create an indent in my skin. I tried L(arge), but they were a little tight. By hand washing, I was able to coax 4-5 years out of each pair ($30 per pair at drug stores everywhere) with every day AND night usage. There seemed to be no competition to these expensive, not-quite-right for me pressure stockings.Until now (as a loud TV ad might bellow). A friend was wearing some nice-looking pressure stockings and he shared that they were from Dr. Motion, and that they were doing the trick for him. I immediately went online and purchased a 4-pack. Unfortunately, the ones I want/need, are backordered for two months. Since my Futuros were dying on-the-vine (so-to-speak), I was really ready for a change. Amazon algorithms recommended these stockings from Pembrook. A six-pack for less than the price of one retail pair of Futuros. I took the bait. They look like the Dr. Motion stockings and had a size labeled L-XL. I thought, "perfect," right between the Futuro's sizes, which, as mentioned, were never quite right on my legs (I'm 6'3 with a 34" pant length). I pulled the trigger and received the package in a couple of days (thanks Prime). I have been wearing a pair for 3 days/nights. They are extremely comfortable and they are keeping my legs in reasonable shape. Not quite as controlled at the Futuros (a-fib can be a b*tch), which produce perfect ankles every morning. But, reasonable. My notion regarding the sizing was rewarded: PERFECT length for me...exactly between the L and XL sizes from Futuro. If the Dr. Motions surpass these in control, while being as comfortable (aesthetics are very similar), and sized as well in the length, I will be in stocking heaven. In the meantime, I couldn't be happier with these mid-pressure stockings from Pembrook. If your needs are not as extreme as mine, these could be top-notch for you, and at this price, a great value, as well.

Appear to be good value.
Good fit and comfort. Long term durability unknown. If they do hold up we’ll, I’ll gladly buy more.

Love these compression socks that don't look like compression socks
I am indebted to "Tom," who wrote the detailed review captioned "Best of 4 Brands I Bought on Amazon." I rode on his coattails and ordered the set of 6 pairs of Pembrook light compression socks. I appreciated the choice of colors and patterns and went with the multicolored set in a variety of patterns. They look like regular socks and anyone looking at them would never know they are compression socks. My husband and I shared the set on a trip to Rome where we did a lot of walking on cobblestone streets. I ordered size large, which worked for both of us. My husband wears size 11 shoes and has long, thin legs. The socks came up to just below his knees. I wear women's size 9 shoes and have short legs with fuller calves. The socks were a bit long for me but I just folded them over below my knee and they worked fine. Please note that these are lightweight compression socks. They were much easier to put on than socks with medium-to-heavy compression and were comfortable to wear for the entire day, yet gave us more support than regular socks. I highly recommend for people who will be on their feet all day, either standing or walking. Without them, I have no doubt our legs would have ached from walking on the cobblestones.

Best of 4 Brands I bought on Amazon
A year ago, I had deep vein thrombosis. One of the outcomes was weakened circulation. I began have substantial swelling in my ankles and feet. I went after the problem aggressively and quickly learned that a necessary part of the rest of my life is compression socks. Not having any knowledge of brands, I purposely bought three on Amazon and have been wearing them daily for six weeks. The three brands are:Pembrook "Men’s Compression Socks (6-Pack) – L/XL – Black, Gray, Navy - Graduated Muscle Support, Relief and Recovery" ($5/pair)Iseasoo "Copper Compression Socks For Men & Women-3 Pairs,15-30mmHg" ($4/pair)Dr. Scholl's Men's Premium Diabetic and Circulatory Casual Crew Socks [2 Pack] ($5/pair)My summary observation is that the Pembrook socks are address my needs substantially better than the others. I rated the socks in four categories: Support (especially managing swelling), Comfort, Breathability (management of body heat), and Cost.Support: Pembrook was 1st; Iseasoo 2nd; Scholl's 3rd. This category is a bit like Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. Pembrook socks go on the feet and legs with moderate effort and stay where they are placed. These are high socks, going up to just below the knee (I am 5'9"). For me, going higher is dangerous. The Pembrooks hug the calf with choking my legs. Even after a full day, they feel good and manage swelling very nicely. The Iseasoo also extend to just below the knee. They are very hard to put on and they feel substantially too tight. They do, however, accomplish my goal for managing swelling. Scholl's only go to mid-calf, which is ok with me. However, they provide substantially less support and feel like relatively loose athletic socks that don't promote compression (of which I have many). I was quite surprised at the apparent lack of compression. I'm not a scientist, but they didn't help me more than regular, and much cheaper, socks.Comfort: Pembrook was 1st; Scholls was 2nd; Iseasoo 3rd. Pembrook hits the sweet spot for me between compression and comfort. They simply feel great to wear. Scholls is as comfortable as a regular sock, but doesn't do much compressing. Iseasoo was too tight. And even though it's tight, the fabric (which is substantially different than Pembrook) allows it to slip down my legs. It leaves marks on my calves when it doubles over (sometimes) and "eats into my legs. I'm already avoiding wearing them until the others are dirty.Breathability: Pembrook was 1st; Scholls 2nd; Iseasoo 3rd. Fabric is important! Pembrook is a very breathable cotton/polyester mix. Wearing any long socks in August is likely to create too much warmth. Pembrook was fine and I give it very high marks. Scholls is nearly entirely polyester. However, it is only a mid calf sock with a loose weave so it didn't create much heat-discomfort for me. Iseasoo is "unique copper-infused, breathable, moisture-wicking fabric" which means I don't know what the fabric is. It was definitely uncomfortably hot. I couldn't wait to get them off at the end of the day.Cost: At between $4 and $5, they are practically all equal. Scholls is cheapest and should be. It didn't provide me with the performance I expected.Pembrook wins hands down.Final note: I have some mid-calf white athletic socks (I couldn't find a brand!) that provide substantially better compression, comfort and breathability than Scholls. I can wear them with short pants and not look like a 'dweeb'. I bought them at Costco. I'm going to buy more for warm-day outings (short pants days). I won't buy Scholls again. I'm going to buy another pack of Pembrook. I might buy Iseasoo for winter but would try to find a larger size (although I'm just a medium build).Main point: Compression socks are SO important for so many people. I hope this review helps with your decisions.

Good support but won’t last long
We really liked these socks. They are soft, fit well, BUT, the heels are now bare in some of the socks and we purchased these less than two months ago! They will not last and we are very disappointed.Looking for other compression socks!!
