Definitely not as good as equivalent Speedos or TYRs. Material is just as good, but these are an inch shorter at the knee compared to the name brands. Also, the draw string is thinner, and comes out of only one hole (versus each end of the draw string coming out of its own hole) so you run the risk of “losing” an end of the draw string if it gets pulled too far one way. Lastly, the waist of this suit does not lay flat in the back like the name brands, so it creates a bit of drag.With all that said, I would still order this again for typical swim workouts. Material seems high quality, yet costs more than half the name brands. If this suit cost as much as the big brands, this would be a three-star review. These shorts have lived up to expectations, and are a great value. The only issues I have had with them, and this might be more personal than anything, I am training for a half iron man, I've found the saddle padding a bit thin, and when swimming they are a bit loose on the kick off, so they slip down a little. I have used them under a wet suit while scuba diving, swimming and while biking.
