This is the only lotion I have found after trying a lot of brands that I'm not (or only slightly) allergic to. Most lotions for sensitive skin including vanicream and Cerave give me an itchy rash, unfortunately I don't know what ingredient I'm allergic to. So if you have issues with those brands, try this one.This lotion is definitely soothing, I would say it's not really greasy and doesn't feel like a petroleum based lotion. It stays slightly sticky even the next day after applying it. It feels like it absorbs into the skin a good amount, but also forms a protective surface barrier (thus the slightly sticky factor). My skin feels softer when I use it.It is basically unscented, I can maybe smell a hint of oatmeal but it's very minimal.

I developed a stress rash and purchased this product after looking online for recommendations. This works so well and quickly. My neck was red, flaking, itching, swollen and so dry. My face had also been extra dry this winter too, flaking, peeling and itching (My skin is dry normally but this was much more than the norm). The first night, I used it before bed and when I woke up, there was already a drastic different in my neck. It still felt soft in the morning, it wasn’t itching, and redness had been taken down by at least 50%, if not more. Within three days, it looked 90% better. I have actually been using it as my face and neck moisturizer because my skin feels so soft and stays hydrated throughout the day. What a great product and great value. A little goes a long way and you can pretty much use it anywhere on the body. I had worked in the beauty industry for years and had a range of mass vs prestige products that were not hitting the mark but this really blew my mind.

I discovered this product two winters ago when I was experiencing a particularly bad eczema outbreak on my hands and wrists. My hands were red, itchy, dry and irritated to the point where the only thing I could do to keep from itching was to tie ice packs on my hands to numb them completely. One particularly cold night I was driving home and I could feel my hands starting to burn and itch underneath my winter gloves. It got so bad that I had to pull over and put on some lotion, which, as usual, did little to remedy the situation. So I stopped at a store hoping to find something that worked and saw Aveeno's Eczema Therapy lotion. I was skeptical because I'd tried other lotions, including over-the-counter ones recommended by medical professionals and even a bottle of lotion that came with my steroid prescription, but experienced little to no clinical benefit (the one that came with my steroid prescription actually made my hands sting and burn even more). I was wary of spending another $12+ on a lotion that turned out to be greasy and ineffective.But Aveeno freakin' worked!!! My eczema tends to flare during the winter, when my hands are exposed to drastic temperature changes and when I wash my hands too much. As I'm a hopeless germaphobe living in Cleveland, this used to mean that my hands were raw 6 months out of the year. After just a few weeks of using Aveeno, my hands healed completely. Besides whatever specific eczema-soothing ingredients it contains, the reason I think this product works so well is because it provides a good protective barrier for your skin. If I wash my hands within an hour of applying it, I can still feel that the lotion is on there even after I've washed and dried them. But unlike some other lotions recommended for eczema that I've tried, this one absorbs easily and is not at all greasy. It also doesn't have a strong smell - medicinal or otherwise. I use it religiously on my hands year round and as an all over body lotion in the winter or if I've noticed my skin feeling particularly dry and/or itchy.I may sound a bit overenthusiastic (and no, I don't work for Aveeno), but I'm just happy that I don't have to strap ice packs to my hands any more or feel embarrassed because people are eyeballing my hands while talking to me. If your eczema is driving you nuts, I'd say give it a try.

I use this every day and it works great. Its non-greasy and doesn't leave a residue. The equate version of this is also great but this seems a little better.

My 12 year-old daughter has always had fairly dry skin. However, during the last 3 years, her hands took a turn for the worst. They began to feel extremely coarse and irritated. We tried everything we could to try to help gently soothe her skin. We bought gloves for use during dishwashing, only used gentle hand soaps, used another product daily (as suggested by her doctor) but the skin around her wrists all the way to her fingertips only continued to get worse. Over time, her hands began to turn a darker hue- which almost appeared as though she was wearing thin mittens that were 3 shades darker than her complexion.One day, she ran out of that product, so I handed her a small tube of this lotion to use in the interim. (The tube was originally purchased to give to one of my friends who had eczema, but I neglected to give it to her.)We’ve used Aveeno products for our kids in the past and liked that there were no harsh scents. I figured it wouldn’t hurt her to use it. Much to our surprise, only after a few days of use, my daughter noticed that her hands became notably less red and much less irritated! Within 2 weeks of daily use, her hands regained a level of softness that she hasn’t felt in years and the dark hue completely disappeared!We. Were. SHOCKED!Now a couple of months later, her hands have remained soft with no irritation. You would never know that she ever had an issue with them. It’s truly magical! We now keep a small supply on-hand (pun intended) and will be forever grateful for this product! Worth every penny!!!
