Epson Expression Home XP-5105 Print/Scan/Copy Wi-Fi Printer, Black, Amazon Dash Replenishment Ready

Great printer. Cheaper than a lot of office printers and does a great job printing black and white or colour printouts fast. I like how the paper is hidden away rather than stuck up out the back bending over like most home printers. The duplex printing is also a bonus. I bought extra inks after some reviews say that the ink that comes with it doesn't last long but 100 printed pages later, about 30 in colour, and it's still printing fine. Setup is a breeze if you have an optical drive, which I did on one laptop. For any PCs with no optical drive downloading the driver and following the online instructions can be a pain as you may miss a driver (there are about 5). I found it easier to just rip the driver disc to ISO, copy the file to a USB stick and run on the other Windows 10 machines in our household (Win10 can read ISOs without specialist software). Note that there is no USB printer cable included but it works great over WiFi with modern dual-band routers. I found it useful to assign a fixed IP address in the router itself for the printer. I also installed Epson iPrint on our android devices so we can print from mobiles and tablets from anywhere in the house or garden. Great for when you see some new activities for the kids to do when isolating. Click, print, job done!

I need my printer to work wirelessly with MacOS, iOS and Windows 10 devices. This no doubt explains why the setting up process presented something of a challenge! Or it did to me.However, once achieved the results are excellent. The output both in colour and monochrome is fast and good quality. The Epson cartridges are not cheap, but compared with my previous printer (Canon) running costs are very reasonable, even more so with alternative cartridges from Amazon. The copy function also works very well. Good buy at a very good price.

This review is specifically of the Epson XP-5105. Having recently failed to set up an HP printer, I was concerned that setting this one up might be tricky. I shouldn't have worried. I got into a slight muddle because I did the mobile phone setup first - that assumes you've already installed the ink cartridges etc. And the print head alignment was mind-numbingly slow and wasted 4-5 sheets of paper. I was a little bit annoyed at the printer demanding access to location services - presumably so they can brick the printer if I ever dare take it out of the country. Apart from those niggles, I'm pretty happy.The WiFi set up was impressive - the printer found and joined my home network completely automatically - I didn't even have to supply a password. Borderless printing is excellent, especially on glossy photo paper. 600 dpi scanning is very good, and I particularly liked that the printer can save scans on a memory card and it can also print photos from the card without having to involve a computer at all. Although I have to say the process would be easier if the LED screen was a bit bigger and touch-sensitive.Normal printing (ie b/w text) is very fast, and automatic 2-sided printing is something I haven't seen before - very clever stuff. I haven't rated customer support because I haven't used it, and I haven't rated the touchscreen because it doesn't have one.I don't know if Amazon allows links to external things, but I've uploaded a detailed video to my YouTube channel planetkeef.

I’ve always liked Epson printers my old one I’d had for years died, so this looked great for the price, reasonable reviews so decided I’d try it, out of the box & all set up ready to use really quickly, I’m impressed so far.It’s great because I keep it in a cupboard the paper is stored in a tray at the bottom like my old one which is excellent!Very well made, very easy to set up a novice could do it, I highly recommend

I've had this printer for 1 year and 1 month - yes just out of guarantee. The printer has worked very well. Accurate colours etc. 2 days ago, the magenta stopped working. Thinking it may need cleaning, i did that - multiple times. This emptied full cartridges after about 6 head cleaning attempts. Lesson 1, don’t use the head cleaning option. I really wonder where the ink goes. Taking cartridges out and holding them to the light shows that the ink on the right-hand side (the sponge is on the left), is still full. Epson are not along in charging exorbitant prices for ink (weight for weight dearer than gold). I tried cleaning what you can see when you take out the cartridges with a cotton bud. Replaced all of the cartridges and tried again. No magenta even though I tried a third brand new cartridge. Time for a new printer. This is outrageous as it would be just a expensive to have someone try to fix it. If it works, then 5 stars. This one didn’t. There is no option for no stars. Printers should last more than a year or a year and a month even.

Arrived promptly as expected in excellent condition. Psper instructions poor; but using the web link which was in instructions it was easy to set up on mac & windows. Mac very easy via wifi but windows via USB. It took over 1h to set up ~ the BLACK ink cartridge was a bad fit/connection. The ReadyInk Amazon DRS was not obvious; this I managed via google and even then not obvious. This could have been better documented or hyperlinked from ANAZON's page. But from EPSON it was possible.Oh! and automatically pay-as-you-go via Amazon Dash Replenishment is a tad overexpendive when you can buy a pack of 4 inks for price of individuals

Have used for 4 years now. The ink will either dry or end up costing you a lot. The inkjet quality is poor. I made a mistake buying this and will be going to a laser printer next.

J'ai acheté cette imprimante pour un membre de ma famille en me fiant au descriptif sur Amazon sans regarder la référence chez Epson. Et bien il s'agit d'un titre mensongé car cette imprimante n'est pas une imprimante Laser (que je souhaitais absolument pour éviter une imprimante jet d'encre et que l'encre ne sèche en cas d'inutilisation).Bref, encore un article de market-place avec un vendeur peu scrupuleux

He recibido la impresora en casa y NO es una impresora laser. Además, el cable viene con conexión inglesa. No la he devuelto porque necesitaba imprimir urgente, pero no debería permitirse vender algo diciendo lo que no es.

Reçu cette imprimante avec une prise américaine...Heureusement, l'imprimante peut être alimentée en 250V et permet d'utiliser une fiche standard (C7).Sinon pour le reste, c'est OK... un peu lente pour les photos.
