A must buy for someone wanting to easily capture life moments.
I absolutely LOVE this camera. I researched this camera as an option to take on our honeymoon with us, and decided it was a good fit after reading some reviews. I bought it early to test out and took it to the water park. It was fabulous! Great pictures and fun video easily - the waterproof feature was great. We just went on our honeymoon - a 7-day cruise through New England and Canada and a day in New York City after. There were several times when I told my husband "I LOVE this camera." It is so easy to use, and really does keep you in the moment. I would just snap away while still enjoying whatever we were doing. The pictures are great quality, and you get so much rich background in. I had a picture I snapped in Times Square and got it all in there, and someone on my facebook asked if I had a selfie stick. No selfie stick here! Just a small unobtrusive camera.I saw other travelers with big heavy fancy cameras around their necks; I enjoyed the small light Re hanging around my neck or my wrist (I purchased the lanyard) that was not cumbersome at all.Others reviews had the con listed of the camera not being good in low light, and this is definitely true. Pictures come out a little blurry if you don't hold it steady. We were at the top of the Empire State Building and I rested the camera on the metal crossings and got some great pictures of the NYC lights from this little guy! No blur. Other pictures in a restaurant were a mix of good or blurred.Battery life was great! I charged it up each night, and there was only one day that I got the low battery warning towards the end of the day when we were back on the ship already.Using this to take pictures instead of my phone also helped my phone battery life tremendously. If I had been using my phone (which is what I usually do) it probably would have died before noon each day and then, no more pictures! If you'd like an affordable, fun, and simple camera this is a must buy! It truly was perfect for us.I've included a photo taken by the Re at the Bay of Fundy Sea Caves in Saint John, Canada to show picture quality.

SECOND CAMERA DEVELOPED CRACKS: Buy the replacement plan, Poor Customer Service!
MY FIRST REVIEW :Had this camera for just over 1 year. When it worked it was great. Unfortunately it was unreliable. About 1 month after using it I began to have issues with the audio. It would stop, so I got video without sound. This happened intermittently for a few months. I then returned it to HTC for repair under their warranty. It was replaced and worked fine for a few more months. I also bought the charger base and the additional "H20 protection cap". Well it just stopped working and I am 3 weeks out of warranty. This is the second vacation where I have had no images to save. I actually phoned this past weekend while determining that it stopped working while I had the "H2O" package on in the wave pool. Their rep told me to call back on Monday and thought since it was just 19 days out of warranty that they would allow me an exception. Well that isn't happening. I told them I noticed a few tiny cracks at the base and probably water entered there. The camera was never dropped so unsure how the cracks developed (maybe while screwing in their H2O protection base?) The replacement was out of warranty as they start from the original purchase regardless that I had the replacement for only 4 months. They were not willing to do anything. So two vacations with lost videos/photos, the camera cost plus accessories, and they feel that I was fairly treated? They would not even accept it back for repair at my expense. I even asked who else in upper management I could contact and was told nobody. BEWARE!! As you read others comments you will see that many mention cracks that develop without any dropping of the camera........ maybe something defective?UPDATE: I recently purchased my second RE camera within 14 months. The first one developed 2 small cracks at the bottom of the camera. Suddenly it would not turn on. I noticed these during using it with their extra waterproof accessory cap in a wave pool on vacation. The camera was ruined. HTC refused to help since it was 1 month out of warranty (13 months). They claim that I physically damaged it. The camera has never been dropped. The cracks just developed over time. I researched the camera on Amazon reviews and found others claiming the same thing: cracks developed with no dropping of the camera.I really enjoyed the camera and decided to purchase another. I had already purchased the additional waterproof cap/bottom, a case, and many memory cards, so I thought to give it a try again. On this purchase I bought the extra warranty. Well I just came back from vacation, and while there I noticed a crack in the SAME AREA. The camera works, but after finding the crack I was not about to try it in water. Again, I have NOT dropped the camera.HTC appears not to recognize a problem with their product. 2 cameras and similar cracks that others also have reported?? It's about time that they address this and not assume that users have caused the damage by carelessly dropping the camera.Produce a quality product......SEE THE PHOTOS OF BOTH CAMERAS BELOW..........................................BEWARE!!

Highly recommend this camera, so much fun to play with.
I discovered this product when I was traveling in Taiwan and I was so impressed with what it can do. The price on Amazon was better than buying in Taiwan. I got it while it was less than 80 and it was a steal for me.I had hard time opening the case and got the items out. It was not a big deal for me. I charged the camera and was glad to find that it came with a 8GB micro SD card. The connecting RE app with the RE was very tricky for me. My phone is Samsung Note 3 but it kept telling me that it couldn't find the RE. My husband's phone is note 3 and it got connected instantly. I then realized because I didn't turn on the data plan, using wifi only would have problem. After connecting the device to my note 3, I have no problem connecting it without using the data plan. This is cool. The app works great controlling the RE and the picture, video qualities are great. I had a Polaroid POLC3 Cube and it was nothing to compare to this HTC RE. I love my HTC RE.I haven't used it in water but knowing it can be used under water was very nice. My husband loves its slow motion video recording. All works very well. Buy it, I highly recommend this camera.
