I love it!
Okay. I admit it. I am a snob. I read the reviews on this product. I really had been drinking a lot of coffee in the last eight months. I went to a local nationally known coffee shop and bought several lattes a day, and some for my assistant, as well as bringing home one for my wife. I was spending a lot of money. My wife suggested that we buy machine to do lattes. Read the reviews of different products, and I definitely didn't want one that would involve a lot of time and energy to make a latte. I have had fancy cappuccino makers from foreign companies in the past. I read over the reviews for this product and I thought really, Mr. Coffee? How good could this be. Well I'm here to say that it's pretty darn good. It is very easy to use. I get espresso ground for espresso at the local market. Put six scoops in the basket, fill the water reservoir, and milk in the carafe, and also add some dark chocolate powder, and a couple of teaspoons of sugar, and sometimes a little organic chocolate syrup. In five minutes I have a very tasty with some nice froth. The machine keeps the latte hot if I want to drink it over a little time, let's me re-froth if I would like, and is very easy to clean up. I also like that I can see all of the parts of the machine and clean them. The reservoir is easy to fill. It seems that everything was thought out. In the morning I can make 2 cups, fill my mighty mug, and jump right in my car. This product paid for itself in two days. The coffee has good flavor, not as syrupy as real espresso, but very satisfying. Very nice job Mr. Coffee!! I have been using this product for about two months once or twice a day without problem.

Excellent Lattes! You must try this!
This is the second "espresso" machine I've purchased (the other was a $30 Bella one, which worked well, but wasn't spectacular), and I think this one is far superior! Much easier to clean (not so many parts to take apart and assemble back together) and it does a remarkable job frothing the milk, at least with certain types of milk. I tried several brands of almond milk and found that the Trader Joe's and Kroger Simple Truth brands worked really, really well! You get a ton of foam, which I love! My only complaint about this machine is that you are not pulling real "espresso" shots, and that it is supposedly more like coffee than it is a shot or two of espresso going into your drink. I don't seem to notice much of a difference in taste, though, or at least not enough to bother me terribly... and this is coming from a former Starbucks snob (and once employee). If I'm in the mood for more of an espresso/coffee taste (and less of a milky drink), I simply add more ground espresso to the filter. Because of this, I probably use a lot more ground espresso (or finely ground coffee) than I would if I was using a real espresso machine that pulled a real shot of espresso. I do notice I go through my ground espresso much quicker than I had been using my Bella machine, which isn't ideal, but I know I just have to be more on top of buying my espresso beans. (I'm sure I'm still saving boatloads of money using this machine every morning than I would if I were I shelling out money at Starbucks for my lattes there). I think the overall taste, practicality, and ease of use are still so impressive here! I'm very, very pleased with my purchase. Great price on Amazon, too!!! Definitely give this a shot - you'll be happy you did.

A gift my wife didn't give away!
I bought this for a Christmas gift for my wife. She loves lattes, (basically because she hates coffee so she drowns it in lots of milk and sweeteners). Even though she wanted a machine to make lattes, she also has zero tech savvy, so after 38 years of marriage I have learned that anything that has too many steps, becomes a give-away to her friends or family. If you are a latte "connoisseur", you may look down your nose at this machine because it isn't the traditional style espresso machine, with the froth steamer and the high price. As soon as I took this out of the box, I was impressed because it looks like it is well made. This design concept is simple.but it works amazingly well. Well enough, at least, for a low brow like me to declare that it makes a latte as good as Starbucks and alot cheaper. You pour milk and an assortment of flavored sweeteners into a carafe up to a measured line of the carafe. You place the espresso in the basket just like a drip coffee maker. You turn the machine on. The top and bottom of the carafe have electrodes that both heat the milk in the carafe and activate a removable wand with a coiled agitator that hangs from the lid of the carafe. When the coffee finishes dripping into the carafe, the agitator stops and a light comes on to let you know the drink is ready. Very easy to use and one of the few gadget gifts that my wife didn't give away.

For anyone who is a fan of coffee shop style lattes this is the machine for you! I used to have a little home espresso and frothing wand machine but it was very finicky, time consuming and had a lot of problems. With my Mr. Coffee machine I just press a button and then moments later have an amazing latte ready to go! While it's true that it doesn't do "real" espresso if you're the type of person who isn't too fussed about that kind of thing and want some good lattes it's the perfect machine for you!
