Nice beginner combo
Bought for my nephew for Christmas. Reel casts very well and is perfect length for a 6 to 10 year old. He is very excited about rod for the money you really cant beat it.

Expect Reel Disappointment
I purchased this fishing combo for my 7 year old daughter for a birthday gift. The reel I found to be substandard and cheap. You can't make a 20 yard cast with it so I replaced it with SHAKESPEARE® SYNERGY® TI (an additional $20) and now it's a fish-able combo. My daughter can cast over 40 yards with it all by herself now. If you want a better combo, spend more on a different item. I bought it based on the reputation of Skeet Reese products and was disappointed.

great rod ....bad reel
to start i fish every chance i get day or night so i want good eqipment for my family that will hold up with no issues were always on the go fishing somewhere no time to stop to if eqipment breaks with that being said the rod gets a five star its awsome but the reel is the cheapest ive ever seen mickey mouse has a better reel and im not exaggeration at all my advice is buy it and find a better reel i have a 4 and 7 year i put 33 platinums they seem to work good

Great quality set!
We bought this fishing rod set for my seven year old nephew for Christmas that loves fishing but just had a small rod for a young child. This set is perfect for him and he loved it! He immediately put the hat on (which is great quality) and couldn't wait to watch the DVD and work on his fishing skills! As soon as it warms up a bit I'm sure he will be one of the first little fisherman out! The product is great quality and will last him a long time!

the greatest little pole for a big man too.
could not find a better price, got them for some kids but after getting them. I needed a good brush pole to cast from the boat to get closer to the bank an brush piles. throw a zebco 11 micro spincast on that pole an you would not leave home with out it.
