Absolutely love this manga. The way it’s written and all of the footnotes around the panels for more information about the different types of weapons. Brilliant read!

Lots of reviews are suggesting not to buy because a couple of pages are missing - I did not feel as though that detracted from the book as a whole. Some stunning artwork with great stories certainly makes it a must buy for fans of science fiction and cyberpunk. If, like me, you watched the anime series and films before delving in to the manga, you will also recognise specific panels and storylines which were adapted from this work to the screen version.

I think the term is futuristic manga. I'm not sure. It's got strong mecha/cyber/tech themes, and it's a Japanese graphic novel. Anyway it's great. It's really good. It's just really complex too, and I confess I couldn't really follow the plot. To really digest the story, I'd have to read it a lot slower than I did. But I like going fast, cos the imagery and concept for this book are awesome.

Ghost in the shell is an amazing manga and great classic! It is beautifully drawn and the story itself is beyond amazing! Despite being extremely funny and comic oft times, the story itself revolves around a serious philosophical topic of life and existence. A highly recommended read for all Ghost In the Shell fans and for those, who enjoyed any of the animes, and would like to study the world of Motoko Kusanagi.

Visionary, modern, miles ahead of its time. This is a manga masterpiece that any comics collection worth its while needs to have. And now that you are at it, also get the anime of the same name, since it won't disappoint you either.

Received it around the time I expected. Classic Japanese cyberpunk comic that every sci-fi reader should have. There is no full translated version in Mandarin so English version could be a choice for Mandarin speakers.

This was my first experience of this 'comic-book' style of story. I read it via the Kindle App on my android tablet (10") and it worked fine. I'm not sure how well it would work on smaller screens/phones as it could be quite a test for your eye-sight. I must confess to ending the story unsatisfied as the absence of background detail that you get in a traditional, mainly text, book format made following/understanding the story more difficult. There is a great deal of info at the end that fills in many of these gaps so maybe if I re-read it after working through it things may hang together better. Unfortunately being in Kindle format I didn't discover the additional stuff till the end and swapping back and forth doesn't seem that simple like it would in hardcopy. In terms of the story the ideas are excellent but I am not sure that this style of presentation suits me so not sure if I will be continuing with others in the series.

It would be better if there is not a Scarlett Johanson sticker of the film poster on the cover.

Ik ben een enorme van van de Ghost in the Shell serie (althans het materiaal voordat Spielberg de franchise overnam) en mijn vriendin heeft ooit eens de originele Manga voor mij in Japan gekocht en meegenomen. Ik bezit ook de Engelse, vertaalde, versie en dat is de versie zoals ik 'm hier beschrijf. Ondanks het feit dat de Kindle niet optimaal is voor het bekijken van grafische afbeeldingen komt dit boek erg goed tot zijn recht. Ik vind het ook sterk dat de Kindle helemaal inspeelt op de Japanse methode van lezen: van "achteren" naar voren (ofwel van rechts naar links). De echte Manga lezen is makkelijker, maar de Kindle versie is beslist een goeie variant.

The print is great, my sole problem is that the book received a few bruises during shipment

The story lines felt organic, and based in the possible. The visuals alone (and I can’t say how much I LOVE the emanata and special effects, sounds and lettering) are entrancing. The color work is luscious, and the backgrounds detailed and grounding. Well worth the time to sit with.
