I'm a smoker yeah yeah whatever. Anyhow, I have an antique t-bucket without a roof and while i'm driving I have always had to pull over even on the highway to light a smoke. I looked into this type of lighters and bought whatever it was junk that was advertised on tv. I got that junk and the damn button broke so I couldn't use it plus the battery on it lasted about 26 hours without using it I.E. just sitting on the table without using it to light smokes. OK so onto this lighters review. the real lighter sits in a plastic case which makes it waterproof/resistant BIG PLUS.....I've used this lighter going 65 MPH on the highway to light a smoke with no problem where that other junk I had wouldn't work doin 40MPG....this is all while driving a car without a roof and wind blowing on my face. As for the battery life per charge....I've left this thing on the table for weeks and pick it up use it without recharging no problem. This IS the lighter you want whether you smoke, are a survivalist or even just someone living in a hurricane and/or area that easily floods! the ONLY issue I have with this type of light is I cant light a candle where the wick and candle are inside a jar. Cigar smokers might ask if it works for those, I've had GREAT Cuban's and yes it does light cigars, but it's difficult due to size, unless you have cigarillo type cigars then it's easy enough.

Love this product bought as a gift for my BF and was at a party and his friend thought it was so cool so I ordered another one as a gift for him...I love that it comes in a nice gift box makes it look expensive

I use this to start fires in the wood stove - indoors, but since this uses an electrical arc, I'm sure it would work anywhere. I'm told that it has a high pitch sound, but I can't hear it. Seems well built. Kinda nice to have yet another alternative lighter - butane, zippo types and now electric.

I have not really used this yet other than to see that it worked - it did. It looks sturdy and I like the color - 'Cuse fan. Shipping was fast and it appears to be as advertised. I bought it to keep it in my car for emergencies.

Its pretty cool.

Great lighter I have been all over central and South America fishing in the Amazon crossed many rivers with it in my pocket, and coupled with a small solar panel I will never be without fire
