Herb Pharm Certified Organic Plantain Liquid Extract for Cleansing and Detoxification - 1 Ounce (DPLAN01)

I usually don't take the time to do this, but I heard about this on a blog and had to try it. Plantain extract should be in everyone's medicine chest!Here's why. I live in an area that has huge, mean mosquitoes. It is NO FUN going outdoors to garden because the mosquitoes are just terrible.So I read about a home-made mosquito repellent and it works well. But once in a while now I still get a mosquito bite, and my skin does not do well with it. They swell up, itch, hurt, and sometimes even get ugly. Nothing worked to stop the itch, swelling, and inflammation. I promise, I have tried everything -- cortizone, campho-phenique (sp?), alcohol, vinegar, baking soda, and OTC topical ointments especially for bug bites. Nothing worked to stop the itching from the mosquito bite until I tried the Plantain extract. I use some honey cream that has oil in it and drop a few (maybe three or four) drops of Plantain extract in the cream and mix it. Then I put it on the mosquito bite. Within five minutes the itching goes away. Not kidding.I had a rash on my ankle (I think it was poison ivy) and it was beginning to spread. Scared me badly! I had just received the Plantain that day in the mail, so I hurriedly mixed it with the cream and put it on the rash (which was itching like crazy). It stopped the itch immediately and the next day the rash was almost gone. Am I convinced? OH YES! And to think I have not heard about this until now!!! Try it! It would be great for kids because it does not burn and the fragrance is not at all unpleasant - in fact it is quite nice. I will never again be without it. Wonderful quality. REALLY good product!

Since I have been taking this products it’s helping remove excess mucous. Helps clear my head as well

My cat was bitten by something near his face. His head was swollen. He could not eat. I diluted this with a little water and used a dropper to feed it to him. Within an hour, his head had gone down significantly and he was able to eat. He was back to normal the next day.

Using to decrease inflammation

The product is excellent but I do not know if it is efficient for me.

Plantain has many, benefits but the ones that specifically caught my eye are the high content of Vitamin A Calcium, ascorbic acid. Mainly the ability as an anti-inflammatory. I take several herbs that's good as anti-inflammatory, I have osteoarthritis and before taking these herbs I was on prescription medications and pain pills. I do not take any prescription medications for osteoarthritis any more. If you take an anti-clotting medications (i.e. Coumadin, Warfarin) you should ask your Dr. if this herb is O.K. I use the tincture mostly for it's convenience!

I had a bit of a hormonal issue (I'm 53 and my cycle would last for weeks---sorry for the TMI). In addition, I had little rashes or irritations around my face/hairline and lower legs. I Googled these two symptoms and learned that Plantain herb would remedy both menstrual irregularities and skin problems. Within ONE DAY, my (bizarre) three-week period stopped. And my skin cleared up within a week. Wow!!

I always enjoy Herb Pharm tinctures as they can be used topically as well as ingested. The plantain does have a 'bite" to it, though, so if you're not one to keep a few drops under your tongue for 30 seconds, it's best to (but not as effective) put some in water and chug it.
