Hifi Quality Speakers
A lot of reviews seem to have been from people who were given these speakers for free. Where are my free speakers? Anything free would be welcomed thanks! So seeing as no one has given me any free stuff to date all my reviews are purely from the perspective of a regular consumer. These speakers are very good. I like the fact that they are not at all hyped in any way. They are clear, clean and controlled. The bass goes lower than I thought but of course being so small the bass is limited. They do not go particularly loud either but they do in general go loud enough. I have only had them a day so nothing here is in depth. I am listening to them right now and they are very nice. An acid test I think is when you hear stuff you haven't heard before. Consider the fact that I have a VERY good hifi system and multiple systems at that at my disposal and you should understand that these are more than decent. I would say that you could use them easily as a small studio monitor. Yes they are that good. The fact that they are quite smooth and easily let you hear 'into' a recording then they could be considered a bit of a bargain. The sub out is a great feature. I am using them right now with a Rel Quake subwoofer. A full replay system from 20hz to 20,000hz. A very small full range system. They are probably best used as nearfield monitors as they don't have enough power to fill a room. With regards to using them with a subwoofer you will need something very well controlled. Especially if you are trying to balance the sound as much as possible. Because of the small driver size pianos for instance sound somewhat small and thin. With a good subwoofer you may be able to compensate for this thinness somewhat. Most subwoofers are terrible for reaching up the frequency range though. The Rel Quake is sealed not ported (ported subwoofers are not generally adept at covering their tracks and bring too much attention to their inherent weaknesses I think) and well behaved so you can get away with more than most.So before I am given to ramble too much these are very good small speakers that can be used in fairly critical situations. Not bass meisters, not loudness monsters, nor hype merchants but a very good quite flexible speaker that is well designed small and discreet.Well done Tibo I'm more than impressed!UPDATEI am still liking these speakers a lot. As I said before they are very detailed and an easy listen. They are pretty forthright though so upping the volume too much and they start getting a little shouty. It's nothing to worry about but it's inherent in their ability to throw a lot of detail out. They must be fairly efficient drivers I guess so they err on the more upfront side of replay. They are on the more cold side of things in their delivery too it has to be said. Rather arid really and quite dry. Still for my uses they are absolutely ideal though and I can forgive them this matter of fact presentation. I have them either side of my monitor screen on modified mic stands and attached directly to the optical out on my computer. I feel quite happy listening to them for quite long periods. They actually make you listen in the nearfield at a moderate level as you don't need to have them loud to catch all the little details. Again it's only the lower mid I find missing somewhat. Your ears do adjust in time though and if like me you will do some mixing and maybe some basic video work with them I think you will find them very hard to beat. I have had a brief listen to stuff like the Mackie CR3's. Yes such speakers are lots of fun with lots of bass but I would never mix on them as they are just wrong (I think). These though are incisive and accurate. A bit like a good headphone. Maybe a Sennheiser. Maybe........... So Tibo and all your other manufacturers of sexy hi tech stuff I am doing the reviews and it's time you gave some of that kit to me for FREE! I got your back!

Very poor sound quality - junked.
I bought these speakers to connect via bluetooth to my music system in the next room. The sound quality was extremely poor, far below what I could stand to listen to. It sounded like the pianist was playing under water with buzzing at any crescendo. Note that this was whilst the speakers were being used at low volume. I would have returned them but Amazon say they are not returnable - so these will just take up space in the attic. A complete waste of money.

Not Half Bad!
I wanted to hook up a turntable, cd player and tape deck to a pair of active speakers and after reading a few reviews and watching a few online videos, I decided to give the Tibo Plus 1.1s a go.Firstly, I like the look of these speakers. The black wood with metal grill and Tibo logo is a simple, but effective and unobtrusive aesthetic which looks good. They're also not too big or too small and feel well made. At the back of the main, active speaker is where you'll find line-in, RCA and optical connections, along with a power switch and volume dial. There's even an input to connect a sub-woofer if you want to.All you need to do is connect the main speaker to the passive one with the supplied wire, plug it in and hook up whatever you like. The speakers also come with a useful remote control, which resembles that of an Amazon Fire Stick and comes complete with treble and bass controls, as well as play, pause and skip etc, for when you're using the bluetooth function.Use the remote to cycle through the inputs and you're greeted with voice prompts which indicate which input you've selected, which is a nice touch. The main speaker also has a blue LED light, to show that it's switched on and turns to red when the speakers are put into standby mode. So far, so good.Sound-wise, straight out of the box, I found the highs to be too brash and the lows a bit uninspiring. However, I spent a bit of time adjusting the volume knob at the rear of the main speaker (I keep it half-way), as well as the treble and bass levels. I then experimented in terms of placement and found that moving them away from the corner of my lounge and onto my mantelpiece made a significant difference to the overall sound. After a few days of almost constant use in order to run the speakers in, I found that the highs had become smoother and the bass a lot punchier, with everything I played via bluetooth, vinyl, CD and cassette sounding crisp, tighter and much more balanced. The speakers also seem to mine into the music for little bits of detail that I hadn't quite heard before, which impressed me.I doubt that audiophiles would be blown away but I'd say that for a modest sized lounge, these speakers do a really great job. The stereo separation and overall soundstage is good and just about every genre of music sounds great, although I found that the speakers really came into their own with electronic/synth based music. For anyone planning to connect them to a TV, I'd probably suggest investing in a subwoofer to boost the bass. One thing that I do find strange is that the play button on the remote activates my TV, but other than that, I'm happy with the Tibos and that the current price point, they're real value for money.*Update*I've since connected the speakers to a Tibo Harmony 6 subwoofer, and to say it's a game-changer would be an understatement. Absolutely incredible sound. Recommended!

TIBO Extension Speakers
Extension speakers for a new T.V. set. These were bought to supplement the internal speakers which were somewhat lacking in clarity. The TIBO units give superb clarity and good quality sound along with powerful volume if needed and useful remote control. A Great Buy !

Volume resets to very high when turned on
Sound is ok considering the price and size. I like the small form factor. What I don't like is a strange popping sound when the audio source turns on which I don't get with any other speakers. Worst of all, the volume resets to a very high default setting every time I turn the speakers on. For this reason I am returning as they are not fit for purpose.
