Quantum Super Lysine Plus Cold Sore Treatment Cream - 0.25 Oz

The best cream for cold sores. Much better than anything else. They also have pills to take as well and the combination gets rid of cold sores, and prevents new ones from coming.

Update:December 2024 - this stuff is the most amazing stuff ever. Had another cold sore flare up and as soon as I felt the swelling I applied it. Knocked it out within the same day. I hope I never find myself without it. I'm going to check out the whole product line. *************** I don't know what makes this product so effective but more it is. I use this and the other Quantum lip clear and I swear it really does knock it out in half the time. I try to keep this on hand at home and if I travel just in case. Yeah it's still goopy and looks gross but just put on a little. Reapply as necessary. This is not the cheapest but it's not as pricey as the big name like Abreva which didn't do squat for me. It actually works for me. I highly recommend this product and/or the Quantum Lip Clear Lysine +. Same brand. I have no idea why it's packaged or labeled differently. They do have different "taste" and "smell" (obviously DO NOT ingest it on purpose). But both have the same amount menthol. Might have additional add ins. I don't know. I just know they both work. Get it. Have it on hand. It will helps you stress less.

This stuff is incredibly effective at preventing a cold sore from erupting and/or healing it very quickly. It works MUCH better than the name brand OTC cold sore remedy whose name begins with/an A. The tube is very small but its oil based so you only need a tiny bit for each application. The only negative is how messy it is. It’s very runny (think melted coconut oil consistency) and it’s clear. I recommend punching a tiny hole in the foil seal (with a safety pin or similar size tool) so it doesn’t come rushing out resulting in a waste of product. Press ever so gently on the tube onto your finger, then spread it on your lips. Works even faster is you get the SuperLysine Immune Support supplements from the same company. My cold sores never erupt if I use both at the first tingles!

This product is good! No foul smell and it doesn’t burn my lips! I liked it so much I bought another tube. I use it at night mostly. It seems to keep my lips moist and stays on. I’ve had no cold sores since I started using it but that could be dumb luck.

I’ve been successfully using this ointment for years when I have an outbreak of shingles (not as severe as I’ve seen others experience). Works very well in controlling discomfort and dries up the outbreak quickly. Couldn’t live without it.

After battling with a cold sore for almost a week with Abreeva I had enough. I have used lysine capsules in the past with success, but I didn't have any on hand, so I turned to Abreeva which did nothing for the cold sore. I went to look for this product at my local Vitamin Shoppe and they didn't have it in stock. They did however have the Quantum Super Lysine, 180 Tabs, 1 Bottle in stock so I went ahead and bought that while I waited for the lysine cream to arrive. This lysine cream arrived the next day and I immediately began applying it while also taking the capsules. My cold sore was gone in about 48 hours. The throbbing pain and swelling went down immediately. If you suffer from cold sores don't even waste anymore time using anything else like I did (i.e. ice cubes, vasoline, abreeva, alcohol), or any other stuff out there that is promoted as a miracle cure. The virus simply doesn't like lysine, so it goes back into remission fast. Anything else you try will make it worse! I also like the fact its a natural brown color (looks clear when you put it on) and isn't ghost white colored like Abreeva. Who wants to walk around with ineffective gob of white cream on your lip? Im going to purchase Quantum - Super Lysine Plus+ Coldstick, .18 oz sticks because they have spf in them to protect from getting cold sores in the first place. Sun is a major trigger for these buggers. If your on the fence about this product or looking for something that actually works, go for it!

I was underwhelmed by this product. I've tried lots of cold sore medicating creams and ointments over the years and although this wasn't nearly as bad as some I've tried the price wasn't worth the results. It claims to have Lysine in it but the active ingredient, I discovered after receiving it, is menthol, which has never done a whole lot for me. My cold sore healed up in about a week but I want something that works faster - otherwise I might as well just keep it moist while it heals naturally. There used to be a wonderful ointment that was prescription-only back in the day. My mother used it and then I did too for a while and it was fantastic. But I think it's been discontinued and I've been on a mission to find an over-the-counter replacement. This is not it :(

This product was recommended to me by a friend who is a naturopath. The medical reviews seem to show that it is very effective to shorten the herpes crises, well: I do not know! I used it with the "Valtrex" pills once the cold sores had appeared and al together it lasted 8 days. You need to reapply frequently ( every 30 minutes!) because it turns out that it kind of liquefies itself and after half an hours, there is nothing left on the lips. The good think is that by applying it frequently made my lips super soft and almost avoided the chapping and the crusts. They were smaller and did not hurt. The difference I found with this product compared to the other hydrating ones is that each time I put any king of lip balm or lip cream during an a herpes episode, it would relieve me on the spot but also make the cold sores "swollen" as if the cream was feeding them. With this product, I got the hydrating effect without the swelling.
